Deptford, NJ -- Joseph Peter DeSantis, 72, died Wednesday October 16th, 2019 at his home of natural causes.

He leaves his sons, Robert DeSantis (Lauren) & Steven DeSantis; grandchildren Paul and Kaylee; his sister Anne Mitchell (Conrad); and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Philadelphia in 1946, Joseph graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1964 and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970; an honorably discharged E4 Sgt trained in radar navigation systems maintenance.  Joseph built a long and successful sales career in various industries, most notably in the paper industry, which took him to 6 continents and over 2,000,000 miles in the air.  An avid Philadelphia sports fan, Joseph was particularly fond of Villanova Athletics.  He was extremely generous to his family and strangers alike, regularly finding reasons to talk to the table next to him.  He spent his retirement years attending sporting events, traveling, going to grandchildren games and dance recitals, and many family events.  He had a great laugh and loved his family very much.

Visitation Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 4-5:30 pm with Memorial service to follow at FERTIG FUNERAL HOME, 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
