Joseph William Mikus, or Joey as he was known by those closest to him, passed on February 8, 2019.

He is survived by his mother, Jo Anne Mikus-Torres, his step-father, George (Og) Torres, Jr., his brother, Andrew T. Mikus, his sister Sherrilyn M. Mikus, his favorite Russian, Ruslana Sokolovskaya, his grandmother, Pearl Walas, his companion, Shannon Holtzinger and his nephews whom he adored, Jameson and Harrison.
Joey was a fantastic chef, an unbelievable salesman, and leader of people. He was respected and loved by his co-workers. He was always proud of being given the honor to speak at many occasions in which his message was always motivating, touching, and with the right timing of humor.
He will be remembered by those closest to him for always being the funniest person in the room, his contagious and captivating laugh, having an extreme thirst for experiences, and his beautiful baby blue eyes.
Joey will always be missed but we are at peace that he is with us always looking over those closest to him from above with his Pop-Pop.

I was so sad to hear of Joe's passing. I had the pleasure of going through school with him. I don't have a single memory of him that doesn't make me smile or crack up. He could always be counted on to make everyone laugh & lighten the mood when necessary. He made many aspects of senior year in particular, fun & memorable (I can still see him walking across the stage at graduation with his gown hiked up to reveal his orange & black striped socks while flashing that mischievous grin of his). He will definitely be missed. My heart goes out to his family.

Joey was a great guy, I knew of him in high school and talked to him here and there back then. A couple years ago, I was lucky enough to spend one on one time with him. It was nice to get to know him on a personal level, be there when he was in the ER and some of his hard times. He was always there to listen to me. Unfortunately, we were at different places in our lives and drifted apart...I will never forget the fun times and the good conversations we had. Those baby blues will always be in my heart. Any time I go to Hollywood I will remember the amazing night of dinner and the roulette table!
My thoughts and prayers are with the Mikus family! ♡

Joey Mikus, you will be missed by all that knew you! You have created a legacy and will be forever remembered. Your contagious friendliness, humor, kindness, and love for food will always be part of my memories. You always gave even if there was nothing else to give. You genuinely cared for everyone and wanted to see them thrive. I’m thankful to have been able to call you my friend and always welcomed as part of the family. Keep us safe as you look upon us and if there is a random funny thing that happens out of the blue, I can’t help but think you had a part in whatever it might be. Rest easy my friend.

I’m so very sorry to hear this. We had many memories growing up as teens while running cross country and track. I always loved to read his posts about work and how much passion and motivation he had. He was an amazing friend who was always there for everyone. He will be missed. Prayers to the family. My heart aches for you all.

Where to even begin........
I knew Joe in high school, but we really became friends in 2007 when he was still living in Jersey. We’d talk, laugh, argue, stop talking.....but always found our way back to talking and being friends again. He was there for me in 2010 and 2017 when my parents passed. Always giving that shoulder to cry on and ear to listen. However he always found a way to make me smile and laugh, even in the worst of times. Once he moved back to PA, we would hang out from time to time. He was an amazing friend, who was there whenever you needed. He had an infectious smile and laugh, with a larger than life personality. He was always driven in furthering his career and success.
Joe will be greatly missed! However from my experience I have learned to speak of those who passed often.......smile, laugh and cherish all the memories.
Thank you Jo Anne for raising an amazing guy who I was lucky enough to call my friend!

Joe was a great man. I had the privilege to know him very well growing up. The memories of youth running cross country together, the many sleepovers and great experiences . Joe always made someone laugh and had a huge heart. He will always be remembered by many.
