His Life
March 19, 2019

On Sunday, March 17, 2019 Joseph Daniels Jr. was reunited with his parents in heaven.

Joseph was born December 12, 1961 the only son of Rosemarie (Fortier) and Joseph Daniels Sr. at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Orange, NJ. He grew up in Howell with his sisters and parents. Joseph was baptized at Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament on December 31, 1961.

Joseph lived a life full of love and adventure. His family, especially his daughters and grandchildren, meant the world to him. He never wanted to be confined to the indoors. Anything he could do to spend time outdoors, whether it be on the back of a motorcycle, fishing or just sitting, he would do. He loved spending time with those that he loved. He was a kind, generous man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone if they needed it even if it was his last. Not a day will go by that he will not be remembered this way.

Joseph is survived by his daughters; Nicole (Brian) Friedrich, Ashley Daniels, Alexis Daniels, Rachael Daniels, Joseph Daniels III, Christina Daniels, and Kristin. He is further survived by his sisters; Maryann Wherry, Deborah Daniels, Marie Brennan, Frances Daniels, Laura (Tom) Wyckoff, Regina Luzzi, Rosemarie (Abdul) Daniels, and Lisa Daniels. His grandchildren; Kaylee Schlenske, Maxwell, Evyn, and Zackry Friedrich; Amelia and Andrew Bay. His girlfriend Laura Wuelfing. Joseph will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents as well as two brother-in-laws, Andrew Luzzi and David Wherry.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and CNAs at Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center for their compassionate care of Joseph. I, Nicole, would like to thank my aunts and Laura Wuelfing for taking care of my father since I could not be here until the very end. There are no words that will ever express my gratitude for you all.

I remember when myself and my brothers went to there house when our father had military duty when we all were growing up. We would all hang out in the loft over the garage and cause trouble. One day I can recall is when he went crabbing and brought some crabs home.  He let some of them crawl around on the floor in the kitchen and his mother wanted to beat him. I loved spending time with him when we had family gatherings.  JD will be loved and missed very much.
