Josephine McKinley (nee Esposito) 85, died on February 11, 2021.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert H. McKinley and is survived by her loving children, Madeline (McKinley) Apollo and her husband Ed, Maryann (McKinley) Thornton and her husband Shaun, and Robert H. McKinley, III and his wife Tina (Ficalora). Josephine is also survived by her dear grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Apollo, Robert McKinley, IV, and Christy McKinley, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents, Ciro and Mary Esposito and her siblings Julie (Martinelli) Dede, Henry Martinelli, Mary (Esposito) Coiro, Salvatore Esposito, Philip Esposito, Rose (Esposito) Matuszak, and Anna (Esposito) Smith.
Josephine grew up in Brooklyn, NY and later raised her family in West Islip, NY. She worked as an Office Manager for a home security firm on Long Island. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was fiercly protective of her family and very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Josephine had a great love of life and never hesitated to help anyone in need. She lit up a room when she walked in. In her later years, she was diagnosed with dementia and suffered short term memory loss after spinal surgery. She miraculously survived and was transferred to the Memory Support Residence at United Methodist Communities in Pitman, NJ. There she acclimated to her new life and made many friends over the years.
Josephine will be missed by all who loved her.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
