Every day we feel your presence in our midst dear Sir, instilling into us dedication and enthusiasm; but not being able to see you in person is heartbreaking. Nevertheless, your smile with all its serenity and charm and eyes gleaming with love and compassion, can be seen as we pass by your Office Room. My mind is filled with love and gratitude for our beloved Sir as I feel blessed to be part of The Asian School family for long. Love you Sir ......

With heartfelt condolences,
I've been in ASB since my kindergarden until my 7th grade...i ve been seeing Joseph Sir since, he was our principal. He had a soft side for students and would always appeared on award events and festive events too. Being the prefect of grade 6th, i received my badge from sir, it was a proud moment for me! I left Asb for schooling in India, i came across the news that sir had passed .

Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Our most beloved sir. I remember those boring assemblies at school, but every year the "founder's day" always made me a lot happier, not like how pathetic it sounds, but the feeling was something different, something positive and natural, I hope your soul Rests In Peace. Whatever you did, was priceless.

Heartfelt Condolences to my beloved Asian School family. I thank the Lord for Joseph Sir's life and legacy. I will always be grateful for his kindness and compassion, particularly during our difficult times when my dad passed away in 1988. Joseph Sir and Elizabeth Ma'am were so supportive and kind to us. Especially as a student of the first batch for the X board exams, Joseph Sir and all our teachers encouraged us and left no stone unturned in helping us do our best. Thank you for sowing the seeds of hard work and greatness in us. We will be grateful always. (Cuckoo)

his Life
Mr. Joseph Thomas did his schooling in the village of Marangatupilly and then graduated with Bachelors in Arts from St. Thomas College in Pala, Kerala. He went on to do his Masters in Arts from Indore University, Madhya Pradesh. He did his Bachelors in Education from Gorakhpur University in Uttar Pradesh. He began his career in education in 1970 when he joined as a Kindergarten teacher at Holy Cross School in Dimapur, Nagaland and then later worked as a Headmaster at the Government Middle School in Pimla, Nagaland. He subsequently joined as a lecturer of English at St. Thomas College in Benaras, Uttar Pradesh. In 1982 he left Benaras and came to Bahrain. His ambition was always to start a school of his own where his vision in the field of education could be put into practice. When he arrived in Bahrain, he saw potential for this dream to materialize and founded The Asian School on May 11, 1983 and has been running the school since inception in the capacity of Principal and Director until July 2009, when he moved to a purely management role.

Mr. Thomas was a dynamic personality who was a born educator and teaching was always his calling. He had relentlessly striven through every adverse moment of his life for the cause of education. He was the guiding force behind the institution. He believed in hard work, sincerity, dedication and perseverance and this had stood him in good stead and helped him achieve success in his life.

There is no night without a dawning
No winter without a spring
And beyond the dark horizon
Our hearts will once more sing…
For those who leave us for a while
Have only gone away
Out of a restless, care worn world
Into a brighter day.
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED, SIR.

Happy Birthday sir!!
