There is no night without a dawning
No winter without a spring
And beyond the dark horizon
Our hearts will once more sing…
For those who leave us for a while
Have only gone away
Out of a restless, care worn world
Into a brighter day.
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED, SIR.

Happy Birthday sir!!

Your legacy lives on forever

June 24, 2021
Formation years of a child play the most important part of setting up their foundation for life. The education, the surroundings, and the environment shape the future of the child. I believe The Asian School has played a very big part in my life in Bahrain and makes me the person I am today. I am forever grateful.

I will fondly remember Sir as “The Principal” whose signature is on every report card and certificate of my schooling years.

I will always cherish the photos with Sir presenting certificates and medals for various competitions that I won.

Here is the school anthem which we religiously sang and is ingrained in my mind to this day

LEAD, KINDLY LIGHT

Lead, Kindly Light,
Amid th’encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark,
And I am far from home;
Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet;
I do not ask to see, the distant scene;
One step enough for me.
I was not e-ver thus,
Nor prayed that Thou
Shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose, and see my path;
But now lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day,
And, spite of fears, pride ruled my will.
Remember not past years!
Lead, Kindly Light,
Amid th’encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!

Your legacy lives on forever Dear Sir, Dear Principal, Mr Joseph Thomas

Thank you

Mr. Thomas, who was a great contributor to the growth of education in the Indian community, was described as the “guiding force behind The Asian School, an educationalist par excellence”.

Mr. Thomas arrived in Bahrain around 40 years ago with a vision to set up a school for the Indian community in Bahrain. “Through his life he has touched thousands of students in Bahrain over several generations and was known for his caring and considerate nature. In his passing, his extended family and The Asian School community have lost a patriarch,” said a school

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his children: Lovy and Timmy, son-in-law, Vinod, daughter-in-law Sarin and granddaughter, Isabel.

Sir I am proud to be a part of The Asian School. You are an inspiration for us. You have did a great job for our school.

My sincere prayers would always be there for you!

The person who was joining with our sorrows

May 19, 2021
I would like to express my sincere gratitude and feelings to our beloved late Chairman Mr. Joseph Thomas.
I have joined The Asian School family in 2013. If I am someone who is writing this story, that is only because of The Asian School.
In 2018 after flood in Kerala, we couldn't land Bahrain on time during September, and we were in a camp for 5 days during those days. It was an extreme experience for my family with our 9-month-old baby after her minor surgery.
After joining back ma'am said Chairman wanted to meet me. I was very nervous to meet him. With a filled heart I have entered in his room. All the management members were there. While explaining my experience to them, I could see tears from Mrs. Elizabeth Joseph. Sir and Lovy ma'am too were very upset after hearing my sorrows.
That was the only time I have met him personally. The time he spent with me was a great relief.
‘Say not in grief he is no more but in thankfulness that he was…’

The Most Humble Person I've Ever Known

May 18, 2021
In my simple language,  I would like to express my feelings, respect and love towards our beloved Sir, Mr Joseph Thomas. I do not know much about Sir personally. But how much I know about Sir, means a lot to me. And I respect Sir based on that great attitude.
           When I joined our school in 2002, one day, our Sir came to see me in my class with his father.  He heard that someone from Kottayam has joined in The Asian School. Yes of course. That's why they came to see me. That day I was taking class. Sir could have called me down to meet them. Instead of that Sir and his father came upstairs to see me.
              Sir, from that day onwards I respect your simplicity, greatness, caring and humbleness.  Dear Sir, How can I forget you?
          '' I will miss you forever. You will be   there forever in my heart."
 With 100% sincere prayers
 Ms Anusha
