Josh's Family Night

April 30, 2013

Josh and I were invited to a quaint little restaurant in Blanco to have dinner with his Uncle David and Aunt Darlene Curlee. It was Christmas 2011, and we exchanged gifts and enjoyed a beautiful evening together. It was so special for Josh to be with his family, and to be able to share such sweet memories and fond moments with the ones he loved. Josh kept kissing and hugging on his Aunt Darlene, and would tell her how much she meant to him. Often Darlene would drive from Corpus Christi to spend time with us, help us, be a support in our lives, and even defend us. She will always be cherished.  His Aunt Darlene was right by his bedside at Hospice, along with his angel, and the love was abundant for him. Josh passed away knowing that the two women by his side never stopped loving him. He is missed daily, and will be remembered always and forever.

A Special Easter

February 5, 2013
This picture was taken at the beautiful Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, where we were standing in front of the fountains by the Jesus statue. Governor Rick Perry spoke at the service that day, and we sat on the Second Row up front next to the drummer so Josh could watch the musicians play. Josh was so proud of his new suit and he enjoyed being in Church. That day began our deep friendship with precious Lora Lee and her husband Keith. The entire family became a part of our lives, and the many prayers, support, and love over the years became priceless to us. Josh received spiritual guidance from Lora Lee, and he would often call her for comfort or to just talk. This picture speaks a thousand words, and he heard Lora Lee talk to him over the phone before he passed. She told Josh that he was a fighter, and he has been fighting all his life even as a child, but it was time to let God do the fighting for him. She assured him he was deeply loved and he could go be with his Jesus now. Josh passed 30 minutes later. From that special Easter day, until December 22, 2012 at 4:15pm, Josh passed knowing he was loved, and he left this earth with the loved ones he wanted the most by his side.
