Mr. Joshua Kyeremeh (a.k.a K. JOE) was born on 29th September, 1957 at the Presbyterian Hospital, Dormaa Ahenkro. He was born to Mr. Timothy Kofi Kyeremeh Boadi of Mfoto Royal Family of Wamanafo and Asuotiano, and Madam Clara Oppong Pomaa of the Tweneboah Royal family of Dormaa Akwamu and Asuotiano.
Mr. Joshua Kyeremeh was named after his grandfather Opanin Joshua Kyeremeh (his paternal grandfather), He was the first of the three children (2 males and a female) born of his mother. Both parents were staunch members of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
K. Joe was baptized as a baby at Asuotiano Christ Congregation and later confirmed in 1986 during his undergraduate studies at Kumasi.
He started his primary education at the Asuotiano Presby Primary School in 1963. He then continued at the Akantome Presby Primary and Middle School, Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region in 1968 where the mother went on her midwifery posting.
In 1970, the mother was transferred to Sunyani where Joshua Kyeremeh was enrolled at the Boahenkorkor Presby Middle School, and sat for the common entrance examination there in 1972.
K. Joe gained admission to the Sunyani Secondary School (SUSEC) where he obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate (O’Level) in 1977. He then pursued his Six Form education at the Tarkwa Secondary School where he obtained his Advance Level Certificate (A’Level).
In 1982 he gained admission to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technolog (KNUST) where he read Law and History and graduated with BA (HONS) in 1986, He had his postgraduate programme at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra.
K. Joe was a great sportsman when he was a student at both SUSEC and Tarkwa Secondary School, He was an integral member of the school’s athletic team and won certificates of honour in the long Jump and High Jump Events at the Regional Inter-School/College athletic competitions. K. Joe was a staunch supporter of Arsenal Football Club of English Premier League (EPL).
He spent most of his early life with his grandmother, Deborah Takyiwaa of blessed memory, whom he cherished so much. K. Joe attributed his discipline and honesty to her as she instilled the Presbyterian discipline in him. Although he left his grandmother at the age of eleven (11) he would always visit her during vacations with his friends to help her on her farms.
He did his National Service at the National Mobilization Programme. While doing his National Service, he was very active in the activities of the Brong Ahafo Students Union (BASU) and it was through this that an unknown person who had identified him to be hardworking and particularly honest, recommended him for recruitment into the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) now National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) in 1987.
He rose through the ranks to become the Director BNI between 2005 and 2009. He performed his work so well in honesty and dedication. It was therefore not surprising that when Akuffo Addo government took over the administration of the country after the 2016 Elections, the President naturally settled on him as the National Security coordinator. And he proved that he indeed was fit for the work.
K. Joe never in his life forgot that he had a Lord to serve and he demonstrated his love and affection for his maker in and outside his religious denomination, specifically, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. His many generous contributions towards the development of the said church testify to this assertion. For his native Asuotiano Christ Congregation, they can hardly survive as a church without K. Joe. At time of his death he was almost single handedly helping the congregation to build a Manse for the church. Now as to how the project will progress to completion is left only in the hands of the Lord.
He was a perfect gentleman, full of humility and respect for every human being no matter his status in life. Tolerance was his watch-word in whatever he did. He was more than an oak tree in his maternal and paternal families.
Definitely his death has caused an upset in the family and has created a vacuum which can hardly be filled.
Whilst the Families mourn this great son, uncle, husband, father, and everything we had, our only pain is against the greatest enemy of all mankind for robbing us of a gem, a saint, philanthropist, a patriot and a Christian at a time when we needed him most.

After his untimely death and upon the visit of the family to the Presidency to formally announce his death, the President paid glowing tribute to him. He described K. Joe as hard working, honest and a patriot who was a pillar in his administration and he therefore, as many others, was devastated by the news of his untimely death.
He is married to Mrs. Rita Appiah Kyeremeh which the Lord blessed them with three children namely, Joshua Nhyira Kyeremeh, Samuel Aseda Kyeremeh and Joelle Maame Takyiwaa KyeremehK.
