I was very saddened to read where you lost your precious mother.

You may recall my Mother (Helen Lynn) was also at Carver with your mom before she passed on April 15, 2013.

Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks ahead.

“It’s not too cold….Come on in”

May 21, 2014

Several years ago in the late sixties, early seventies, some of “The Winfree Sisters” took their children to the beach house that one of “The Sisters” had in Salter Path.  This small sound side house was able to stack and cram anyone in that wanted to go.  On this particular trip, Joy was able to go and everyone was delighted.  Joy, on that trip didn’t bring any of her children to the beach.  All the pre-teens and teenagers wanted to get in the water for a swim….but all the sisters said NO…it’s too cold.  You all will get sick if you get in that water.  There was discussions by “The Sisters”, and the “Teenagers” and both sides agreed that Joy being the neutral party could decide!

Joy walked slowly to the water….all the Teenagers were cheering…It’s not that cold….the Sisters were saying, it’s too cold, it’s too cold.  Joy took her shoe off….tipped her toe into the water, and turned around and said….. “It’s not too cold….Come on in”!  With delight, all the teenagers took off running and with Dismay, the Aunts all shook their heads….

I think no one that was there will never forget it!

Joy was a wonderful Aunt and a very caring person.  She will be missed by all that knew her!
