Joyce Shaw English, 89, born in Moorestown, NJ and a long-time resident, passed away in Gloucester County, NJ on August 9, 2021.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Walter, her parents William H. Shaw and Viola H. Shaw, as well as her sister Audrey and brother LeRoy.

Devoted mother of Elaine E. Dalrymple (Randy), Edward W. English (Carole), and Ann V. Scott (Robert). Loving grandmother of Megan Elizabeth English, Emilyanne Joyce English, and Alexander Edward English. Also survived by many loved and cherished extended family members and many friends who were like family to her.

Joyce was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Moorestown, NJ and was active on many boards and committees, as well as choir and Sunday school. She was always ready to volunteer wherever she was needed. She worked at various office jobs around the area. Late in life she returned to school to become an LPN and worked for several years in Nursing.

Joyce loved her family and was happy to visit with them, no matter how far the journey was. She was a very loyal friend and was always ready to help anyone in need. She was raised on a farm and loved animals, nature, flowers and fresh-grown produce.

Although Alzheimer's slowly took most of her memories away, she never lost her sense of humor and ability to make us laugh.

Visitation Thursday August 19, 2021 from 11am-12 with memorial services beginning at noon at Fertig Funeral Home, 63 N. Main St, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.

Just know you are remembered here on earth as a beautiful woman who gave of herself in many loving ways!
You raised a loving daughter who loves you with all her heart and shows love and compassion everyday.
Annie is my friend and neighbor who is my great privilege to have in my life you must be very proud of her! I’d be lost without her!

I was honored to know Joyce and Walt as neighbors in Atco NJ. Joyce often walked the neighborhood and stopped to visit with me and my boys. She watched them grow up and was always interested in whatever was going on in their lives. She was involved in whatever was happening in the neighborhood, even dressing in costume for our annual Halloween parade. She was kind and caring and exemplified the meaning of a good neighbor. They were both missed when they moved away. Prayers for Joyce, may she rest in peace. Wishing your family comfort at this difficult time.
With sincere sympathy,
Louise and Ray Miller

What a lovely tribute for such a wonderful person. I feel I know Joyce through her daughter Annie who is just like her mother helping all who need a caring, loving hand. When my husband died she and Bob came over and have helped me ever since, walking Bubbles, mowing my lawn, and grocery shopping in a world-wide Pandemic. Annie has truly made my life meaningful and thankful. I get the feeling Joyce and her husband were just the same way!
Joyce thank you for raising such a generous, loving , thoughtful, daughter.
She is a lovely reflection of you and our Lord Jesus Christ.
May you enjoy your well deserved rest and treasures in Heaven.
My love and sincere prayers for Peace to the entire English family,
Barbara L Robbins

Fun times at Here's Home!

August 12, 2021
We were so lucky to grow up as cousins all next to each other at heres home. So many fun times on the farm loved coming to Aunt Joyce's to get her baloni sandwiches! I can taste them now! My mom did not buy baloni. LOL! Loved going to Vacation Bible school at your church where she always had fun activities for us. Lots of love and fond memories!
