Joyce was born and raised in Norristown, PA, and graduated from high school with a focus on business.  She worked in various industries doing administrative work, human resources, and payroll.  She eventually followed her husband, Frank, up into the "country" of Schuylkill County around 1967, where she stayed until 2001.  After Frank passed in 2000, in late 2001, Joyce moved to Florida to escape the cold and be closer to her daughter.  Starting out in the Tampa area, she eventually came east in 2007 and spend the rest of her days in Stuart and Vero Beach, Florida.
