ForeverMissed
This memorial website was created in memory of my Mother Joyce Witherspoon

You are now amongst the angels,
Flying high above the sky
With your love still watching over us.
It brings many tears to our eyes.

Your spirit will still be with us.
This does not mean the end,
For we will be here for you
Until our time will end.

We will never forget you.
You meant too much to us.
We will speak to you in heaven,
And our days we will discuss.

Our tears that fall here today
Will remind us of your life.
How you shared your love to everyone,
Sister, Mother, and Grammy

May the light of our best memories
Guide you on your way.
Through heaven you will travel
Until we all meet someday

Joyce , along with Rose, were wonderful caregivers for my cousin Suzanne. They also took care of my mom who was lovingly called Aunt Clara by them. But more than that Joyce became family to us. She and I called each other cuz and even after bother my mom and cousin passed away she stayed in touch with me either by text or through Facebook. I think of her often and miss re terribly but know she and the rest of our family are watching over us.

My love for you will never change, Everyday i miss your contagious laugh, beautiful smile, distinctive voice. Beautiful beautiful beautiful soul inside and out. Grammy, everyday i pray that i live my life right so i can be able to see you again. You’ve always said i was your sunshine but honestly you were mine and since you’ve been gone everyday gets harder. I wish we had more time but you gave me a lifetime worth of memories and pictures. I appreciate you for forcing me to take pictures. You will forever be appreciated and loved. You’ve touched so many people, it only took one time for people to meet you and they would love you before you left their presence. You are special, unique, one of a Kind. There will never be another Joyce Witherspoon and i am glad to say i am your granddaughter Forever your Grammy’sPanties

As an adult and living miles apart from you, you remained just the most down to earth, kindest, and most lovable by phone and when we would finally seen each other. I am missing your inspirational bible verses, sending me pictures of family events I've missed, making me feel loved and missed, on holidays and birthdays through out the years. I will forever appreciate your last hugs, smooches, hearing your laughter, and seeing how beautiful you really were in person, on the inside and out. As a little girl I heard friends and family around me, called you Coco. So when I was little, I thought your first name was Coco. My earliest best childhood memory is us dancing together in Coney Island, at grandma Lue's. I will never forget you because you are of the greatest stories to be forever told.

I ❤️ you more always Aunt Coco

Keep smiling in heaven

My dear Mother, you will forever be missed and cherished. Thank you for all the love and support. Thank you for being the best mother and friend. We laughed, cried, cooked, and shopped together. I will forever miss our Thursday phone calls that would last for hours, we would sit and talk like we were in the same room even though we were in two different state's.❤

Sissy, you will forever be in my heart. You knew me like no one else did. You were there for every moment in my life - good, bad, happy and sad. Every one of my daughters and granddaughters birth, my care taker when I was sick, you were the best maid of honor anyone could ask for. Most importantly, you were my prayer partner. I truly will miss you Sissy! See you one day in paradise.❤❤❤

Joyce Witherspoon, 61, died unexpectedly on April 2, 2020 from Covid19. Her loss was completely unexpected, and the family was shocked and deeply saddened.

Joyce was born on February 23rd, 1959 to Jessie and James Witherspoon in Brooklyn NY. She was the third youngest of their twelve children. Affectionately nicknamed “Coco” due to her beautiful Brown Skin.

Joyce worked as a Home Care Attendant for many years. She took extreme joy and pleasure in attending to her clients. Joyce was a faithful member of Full Faith Christian Center where she served as a part of the praise team, accounting dept and most importantly, a Minister for the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Joyce loved praying and talking about the goodness of God.
Joyce favorite saying was “When you down to nothing, God is always up to something”.
Joyce was a dedicated Mother and Grandmother. Family came first and was above all else to Joyce. A value she instilled in all those around her. Joyce spent all of her time off from work helping family, friends and enjoying her grandchildren. The hole left by her absence is
impossible to fill.
Anyone who knew Joyce, knew that she was incredibly kindhearted. Joyce loved everyone and treated everyone like family. Joyce was everyone “Aunt Coco”. The cool aunt that was fun and full of laughter. The praying aunt you go to when you needed words of encouragement and the
only Aunt you call on when you needed help with anything. She had a cosmic passion for helping others and was always a source of positivity. Joyce’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and James Witherspoon, her two sisters Ann
Witherspoon and Paulette Butler, her brother James Witherspoon Jr. and two nephews Sharef and Tony Witherspoon. She is survived by her daughter Tiquana, sons Gregory, Eugene and Lesburn, Ten grandchildren, Tazhay, Tyquan, Sharef, Tiziah, Zahmir, Elijah, Jamari,
Jaleena, Ava, and Katalaya
Forever in our hearts.
