Judy Devon Harris, 78, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Granville House in Oxford.
Devon was a native of Person County and was the son of the late Gayland Harris and Mary Tuck.  He was a member of Hester Church where he served as a Deacon and the owner/operator of Harris Auto Service for over 40 years. He was a member of the Oxford Lions Club for many years.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2019  at Hester Baptist Church by the Rev. Jeff Hensley and Rev. Norman Talley. Burial will follow the service at Virgilina Cemetery in Virgilina, Virginia.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Elliott Harris of the home, a daughter, Cheryl Denise Harris of the home, a sister, Betty Taylor of Kentucky , three brothers, Joseph Harris and Bobbie Harris of Roxboro and Jack Harris of Texas and his special mother-in-law, Bertha Elliott. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Carl Harris and his step-father, Woodrow Harris.

Visitation will be held in the parlor of the church Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 1:30 to 2:45 and other times at the home.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Hester Baptist Church Youth Ministry, PO Box 964, Oxford, NC 27565.

So very sorry to hear about Devon. We thought a lot of Devon and you and knew who to come to with any kind of vehicle problems. He has been greatly missed since he retired. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Carolyn; May GOD ; comfort you during this time ! Devon was a good man ! He repaired my vehicles , for many years ! I always could depend, on him ! It was a pleasure knowing him ! He is resting in GODS hands !
