This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Mama Julianah NWARUCHI Ojeh born in IRU VILLAGE OF ORIOWAN LOCAL Government of Ika in Owa, Delta State, 27 December 1932 and passed away on 19 March 2021 at the age of 88. We will remember her forever. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, step-grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and many more people. Mama Juliana barely had any formal education before she married her late husband, Pa. Samuel Benosa Ojeh. She joined him in Warri in 1952, and they later relocated to Onipe village in Ibadan. In Onipe, Mama Juliana was a very hardworking woman and very enterprising; this earned her a lot of respect and creditability within the Onipe Community. She worked day and night on the farm to put food on the table for our large family. It was just her nature, caring for the family. She lived in Onipe and had most of her children before relocating to Owa in Ika Land of Delta State in 1971. She remained in Owa with her some of her children and her husband until he died in 1974. Mama Juliana did not let the turn of events deter her; instead, she continued to work hard to take care of herself and her children. As expected, her hard work did not go unnoticed within the Owa-Nta community. She was a woman to be admired, believed in togetherness and was a mother to many.
In 1990, mama Juliana moved back again to Ibadan so she could be closer to her eldest daughter. She was involved with petty trading, and she never stopped working to help with the upkeep of herself and her younger children that were still living with her. She also attended an adult education in other to improve herself where needed. She was such a fun woman and tried to keep up with her busy grandchildren's slangs, jokes, and activities. For such it there was never a dull moment with her. She had a smile and a laugh that leaves lasting memories in all minds. Whilst in Ibadan she had served as an Usher in her church, New Covenant church Cocoa House and also in her latter branch of the same church in Coca-cola. She was recognised by the leadership of the church as well as many members of the church as a very zealous woman in her service to God. She was fondly called by all members; as “Mama Usher”. She was also known for her great love for the Word of God, God the Father, his Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. She prayed only on her knees daily even until a day before her death; she stood in the place of prayer for all her children to her 4th generations. Prayer was her life -some of her grandchildren would ask -“ granny are you not tired of reading the Bible every day”? her true love for God and his word.
In 2011, her older children moved her to the UK, where she was well taken care of and received good medical services due to her failing health. But in late 2020, it was decided by her children it was time for her to go back home to Nigeria. It was a hard decision, as she had also impacted the lives of many in the UK but there was the need for her to also bond with those she had left behind in Nigeria. So it was decided, and on the 25th of January 2021, Mama Juliana returned to Nigeria. Shortly after less than two months, she died in her sleep after a long term illness on the 19th of March 2021. We celebrate her life for those of us who loved and knew her and remember many more great things about her.
We love you, Mama, but God loves you best. Sleep on Mama until we meet again at the foot of Jesus.
