Julie "J' and I met at D'Youville College in September of 2005 when she accepted a position as Asst Director of Graduate Admissions. I had been working in the same position since December of 2003. We had an instant connection with each other, loved working together and laughed every day. J had the kind of laugh that you could hear down the hall and when you heard it, it brought a smile to your face. J was an alum of DYC herself and wanted nothing more than to help students succeed in life. She touched many lives in her work but more importantly with her family and close friends. J made me part of her family from the first day we met and I am still close to her husband Louie, sister Ro, and niece Melissa. Sadly, Julie was diagnosed with vaginal cancer in December of 2015 and passed away in October of 2016. She wanted nothing more than to return to the job she loved and be here for her family and friends. Now I know why we met, why I became close to her family, we all need each other now and she would want us to be together. I miss her every day, I still work at DYouville, finding it harder and harder to stay, so many memories , so much has changed since her passing. J, you are my angel, I will honor you the rest of my life, I will never find another best friend like you, love and miss you always, T xo
