ForeverMissed

Julieta Escobar, our loving mother and grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2021, at the age of 71, at Viedma Hospital in Cochabamba, Bolivia. After a courageous battle to COVID-1

Julieta was born on January 31, 1950 in Quillacollo where she met the love of her life, Walter Tapia Carrasco and then have six children together. Julieta faced numerous challenges during her life, after losing her husband, and some of her children moving out the country, but that provided her a depth of understanding and opportunities she might not otherwise have had.

She was able to build relationships with so many wonderful people she met in different countries, she visited her kids in the Netherlands and the United Estates numerous times, where she was able to meet and spend time with her grandkids, go visit Spain, France, England, Brussels, Germany and Italy. Her most memorable journey was meeting the Pop in the Vatican where with all her soul she prayed for her mother’s health.

However, for her there was nothing like to be home, where she loved watching her two other sons and then her grandchildren grow. Julieta loved to cook and was an artist in the kitchen. Her only downfall was that she never learned to cook for a small group. There was never a shortage of food, and everyone knew they would be well-fed at the Tapia Escobar home. If Julieta was not at home cooking for an army, there is a pretty good chance she was at her mother’s or siblings’ house, playing cacho, eating some delicious traditional Bolivian dishes or listening/dancing her favorite songs.

She took with her the most precious gift, she was always surrounded by her children here or there, but her long life dream was to have her six children under the same roof. A year ago we celebrated her life together, we saw her cry, laugh and dance just the only way she knew. For life, that will be our most beautiful memory of her.

Her wisdom, compassion, kindness, strength sense of humor and of course her delicious recipes will be missed and cherish by many. She served everyone she loved in many capacities, not only as a mother, grandmother, daughter and sister but also as a friend. The legacies she leaves behind will always be remembered and cherished.

She is survived by her children, Milton (Viriam), Lenny (Joop), Armando (Katjia), Vanny (Wouter), Mauge (Jacob) and Bruno (Lorena) and by her grandchildren Jennifer,  Diego,  Marcelo. Sergio, Tristan, Deidra, Lucas, Sarah, Bruna, Julianna and Owen . Her sibblings Oscar, Hortencia, Irma, Cristina, Rosemery and Wilson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Tapia Carrasco, her parents Nestor Escobar and Pilar Calvi. Also by her sister, Nancy Escobar.

Due to COVID a celebration of life is pending where we all get together and celebrate her beautiful life together. Meanwhile, please wear a mask, keep social distance and take care of your loved ones we are sure she will undoubtedly be smiling down on your actions from above. Because she wouldn’t want anyone else to go through this horrible pain.

Querida mamita July,

Liefs Jenny

Julieta, abuela te quiero muchísimo. You are an example of loving and caring and you made the world a better place. Sadly we were not able to say goodbye in person. But we won't need to say goodbye because your family and all the people you met will have you in our heart. I will always have a piece of your spirit in my heart and will take it everywhere I go. Rest in peace.

Grandmother July’s garden

My dear mother-in-law is no longer here, she was a beautiful woman, warm, very caring for everyone, always cheerfully happy.  What I remember when I was there ... is that she always got up early, then was busy with her garden, to deliver the plants and flowers well and it always looked neat and tidy there, she did that with very  lots of love.  But Mommy Julieta did with everything, everywhere she did there was warmth and love.  We are going to miss this terribly, she was a real mother to me.  Rest in peace Mommy Julieta.  You are deep in my heart forever❤️, Joop
