Her Life

She Made This World Shine

November 21, 2013

For everyone who knew her, she was a Godly woman, a woman of grace and dignity, a true Lady in every sense of the word. Her love for the Lord would shine in every action and every word she spoke. Her love for her husband and children was never questioned, her love for family and friends always evident. She had a sweet, gentle laugh that would draw you to her and you couldn't help but join in. Her words were always wise, kind, and from her heart.  I have come to realize that this world will never shine the way it did before the Lord took her home.  She is so loved, and missed so very much.

Her favorite Psalm:

Psalm 91 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name. 15 He will call on Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.” (NIV)

Our father was blessed with a beautiful, loving, Godly wife.  My brother and I were blessed to have her as our mother, our children blessed by having her as their 'Granny'. She taught us so many things in her gentle, caring ways. Sometimes, I see her in the mirror looking back at me and realize what an honor it is to be her daughter.   Her family surrounded her and supported her as she fought the 'good fight' against breast cancer.

I will not say she lost that fight, only that the Lord sent his Angels to gently take her away from a battle that could not be won.  He took her HOME, where there is no pain or sorrow. Home, where she could finally run through the fields, something she always desired - but could never do here on this earth. I see her in my mind's eye . . . her body healthy, her beautiful face glowing, her hair blowing in the wind as she runs through the fields of Heaven with the Lord smiling at her, saying 'Well done, My good and faithful servant . . .'

At her funeral . . . among the many beautiful words that were spoken about her, and the many scriptures and beautiful songs that were her favorites . . . she chose this song to close her service. You could almost feel her smiling and saying 'be happy for me now, I am home.'

Days Of Elijah

These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the Word of the Lord, yes
And these are the days of His servant, Moses
Righteousness being restored
And these are the days of great trial
Of famine and darkness and sword
So we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord

Behold He comes Riding on a cloud
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
Lift your voice
It's the year of jubilee
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes

And these are the days of Ezekiel
With dry bones becoming as flesh
And these are the days of His servant, David
Building the temple of praise, yes
And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are all white in the world
And we are the laborers that are in Your
vineyard
Declaring the word of the Lord

Behold He comes
Riding on a cloud
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
Lift your voice
It's the year of jubilee
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes

Behold He comes
Riding on a cloud
Shining like the sun
At the trumpet's call
Lift your voice
It's the year of jubilee
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes

There's no God like Jehovah
There's no God like Jehovah There's no God like Jehovah There's no God like Jehovah There's no God like Jehovah There's no God like Jehovah . . .
