Leila was born as Kallawattee Leila Pancho to Anna "Annie" Marie Ferreira Fernandes and Harrichand "Harry" Pancho in British Guiana of January of 1940. Her father passed when she was only 1, a loss she carried throughout her life. Leila was a devoted Catholic, and educated in her upbringing with subjects Math and English being her favorite. She later married Dia Raymond Sukhai in August of 1955, at the tender age of 15. She birthed 3 sons and 3 daughters, whom gave her 16 loving grandchildren.

It didn't take long to fall in love with Leila, she was charming. She had a kind word for all she met, cared about humanity and her family deeply. Leila was an inspiration, had an eye for beauty and the simple things especially cooking or gardening and enjoying tea in the evenings with her Dia.

In September of 2014 Leila unexpectedly fell ill visiting Guyana with her husband, passing by his side.

She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren.

Her generous, warm heart and beautiful smile will always be remembered.
