I love this woman!
Karen was born February 5, 1942 She had an Older Sister Evelyn and an older brother Albert, she had a younger brother Mike. In October of 1960 she gave birth to her first child... her baby boy Steven. She told stories about how she learned to parallel park by playing hot wheels (cars) on the floor with Steve. In November 1962 she gave birth to her 2nd child Gina. Gina was always the quiet one and always seemed to show up at the wrong moment, for example the time my mom was making cheeseburgers, Steve was mouthing off to my mom and she grabbed one of the cheeseburgers with a spatuala and flung it at Steve... well Gina just happened to walk in and got the cheeseburger right on the side of her face. In March 1965 she gave birth to her 3rd child Julie... The story I can never forget here is one day my mom was in a panic because she couldn't find Julie anywhere... well it turns out Julie was hiding under the porch, when she was asked why she didn't come out when they were calling her she replied "You didn't call me girlie poo poo!" In May 1972 she gave birth to her 4th an final child Sherilyn (Sheri).... I remember all my life being told how I was almost born in the bathtub or toilet... My mom and siblings had been eating dinner at A&W when my mom went into labor, well anyone who knows my mom isn't going to be surprised by this one... She refused to go to the hospital until she had taken her bath and put on clean panties.... Luckily I held on a little bit and wasn't born in the toilet or tub, but I was born 36 minutes after she got to the hospital... Good timing mom!!! There was a time my mom was so frustrated with the kids she just had to get out of the house... she quickly threw on some shoes and went for a walk in a snowstorm... Later she realized she had put on one of her boots and one of my dads boots... she was so upset she didn't even notice. This woman was so funny and there are so many stories to tell about her.... When she burped it sounded like she was saying "Do you eat" Yes, she could burp well! There were times we'd be in a grocery store and she would fart... then seriously look at me and say "Sherilyn" as if I had done it. As a teenager we would hit every rodeo we could... it didn't matter we'd travel for rodeo! She also use to love to go get a frozen yougurt after dinner and on the ride home she'd have me hold hers... Everytime she make sure to tell me not to hold it in my "Hot Spot"... her other word for it was froo froo! She loved her bubble baths and was sure to let everyone know her favorite thing was to fart in the tub! She was so full of character and life... she was AMAZING!!! She loved demo derby, she loved her children, grand children, great grand son... and all of her friends with such passion, she would have done anything for you and she would have done it with a smile! I miss her more than anything!!!! The pain is unbearable at times.... But without her I wouldn't be the person I am today... she would sometimes call me out of the blue and say "Do you know who you are?" I'd usually say "What?" Yes, she'd confuse me with it everytime... She'd then say "You are Sherilyn, you are my daughter, you are a part of me and I love you!" Please forgive any typo's, I can't really see this anymore through the tears! Mom, I'd give anything for one more hug... One more phone call, One more look at you!!!! I miss you so much mommy... how am I ever going to make it in this world without you! You were my EVERYTHING!!!!! I love you!!!!
