Karen grew up in beautiful central Wisconsin then gravitated toward the metropolitan lure of Milwaukee, where she lived and owned real estate throughout her life. Her respect for books she instilled in her family, a passion to which she devoted countless hours. Displayed on bookshelves, hidden in cabinets, and tossed on tables, her eclectic titles ranged from literary historical fiction to mainstream thrillers and genre romances. An outspoken advocate for animal rights and an ardent lover of wildlife, she vehemently opposed the abuse of domesticated or feral species.
