Grandma and Grandkids
My mom was always so good to her grandchildren....When Kayla was growing up I think my mom raised her just as much as I did. I remember my mom would work until 11:30 at night and Kayla would ask if she could call grandma at the hospital and ask if she would pick her up after work at 11:30 PM and Kayla was like 8 9 and 10 yrs old. I would always let her cause I know how much they loved being together.....They loved each other so much.....
I also remember that when I told her that I was pregnant with Noah it was so funny.....Lane and I had to go through alot to get Noah (which is another story) so I wanted to tell her in a special way. I found out I was pg in April and I wanted to wait until Mother's Day to tell her but I couldn't wait. I wrapped up my pregnancy test and she opened it and at first she had no idea what it was...it was so funny, but when she figured it out she jumped out of the chair and she was so excited and she was jumping up and down with this pregnancy test in her hand. She was so happy....
When I went to have my Ultrasound to see if Noah was a boy or a girl she was there with My In Laws and My kids and of course Lane. Of course we all said it did not matter girl or boy but we all had all these girls in our family and I know she wanted a grandson and at first Noah was not cooperating and then all of a sudden he moved and my mom said...."Oh, there is the little turtle" it was so funny cause no one in the room besides me and of course the tech knew that when it is a boy on the ultrasound it looks like a little turtle.....She as well as the rest of us were very over joyed!!!!!!
I have so many fond memories of Karen- between my house and Shannonn's house that is where we grew up together. Karen and I both shared our love for animals. I went on family vacations with the Zinke family as Shannon went on vacations with my family. Both of our families went to Alexandria together and had a wonderful time. Karen always took such good care of me when I stayed at the house. Karen always let Shannon and I stay up as late as we wanted. We had fun running all over the house. Every morning when we got up Karen was always sitting at the Kitchen table drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette.. I will miss her very much and treasure all the countless memories-Carmen
