ForeverMissed
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Karley Prince 21 years old , born on November 25, 1997 and passed away on September 22, 2019. We will remember her forever.

Survived by her parents Mike Prince (Krista), and Robin Rose.
Sister Ashley Prince (Jalan Richardson)
many family members, friends and her beloved dog Artemis.

Karley had been excited  to attend school in Kalamazoo for a 8 week program after the new year.  Then college, with a goal set on pursuing a degree and career as an interpreter in French and Spanish. She spent time training her dog, Artemis, snap chatting with her sister, Ashley, and finding the funniest things to share, and to brighten our days.  She had the most  patience and understanding with the world and people in it.

Epitaph - By Merrit Malloy
When I die
Give what’s left of me away
To children
And old men that wait to die.

And if you need to cry,
Cry for your brother
Walking the street beside you.
And when you need me,
Put your arms
Around anyone
And give them
What you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something,
Something better
Than words
Or sounds.

Look for me
In the people I’ve known
Or loved,
And if you cannot give me away,
At least let me live on in your eyes
And not your mind.

You can love me most
By letting
Hands touch hands,
By letting bodies touch bodies,
And by letting go
Of children
That need to be free.

Love doesn’t die,
People do.
So, when all that’s left of me
Is love,
Give me away.

Everything I try to say sounds so sappy and unlike us and I hate it. You and I could always turn to each other and make a joke out of anything. We always played it off like this wouldn't be the hardest thing in the world. Like it would be some dumb thing that doesn't really matter or some distant future that's not real but here we are... You told me a long time ago that you weren't afraid to die. I really hope you meant that. Another time you told me you wanted me to play a cover of Bring Me to Life by Evanescence sang by Goofy at your funeral and I hope you didn't mean that because Goofys voice is so annoying lmao You're my sister and my best friend and my life is a hell of a lot emptier without you, so like, can you haunt me a little? If you're not too busy?

Karley, there is so much to say but first and most importantly is thank you. I don't need to tell anyone that ever met you what a true blessing it is to have you in their life. You have an unique way of bringing out the best in people and making them want to be a better person........#ttyl..................always loved ....Dad

Karley, I've thought about you often over the last several years and am heartbroken now that you're gone. Now I'm here imagining your beautiful spirit flying around in heaven with Buddy brightening the whole place with your laugh, smile and a bright rainbow Halo with matching rainbow wings (plain white would just not do!). We're mourning our loss here on Earth but have peace knowing that you are living your best, carefree life while watching over us from above. You will forever be missed and always in my heart.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Karley, it's crazy to think that I've known you since you were just a child. Over the years, I have watched you blossom into a beautiful young woman with a heart of gold. You defied the odds and lived life to the fullest. You're unique personality and sense of humor made people fall in love with you the instant they met you. I loved you like you were my own daughter, and I am so sad that I didn't get to say goodbye. You will always be in my heart. You will forever be missed. Shine bright amongst the stars sweet Karley. We shall met again some day.

Karley, I hope you realize what an impact you had on not just myself but so many others. I am so grateful to have known and loved you for so many years. It truly is an honor and I am trying so hard not to cry because it's over, but smile because it happened. We had a lot of fun together and I'll always love you. You're the only thing that's been on my mind lately. My child will know your name. Thank you for everything. You can rest now. I love you ❤

The Trapeze

Shared by Krista Prince on October 2, 2019
Although I only knew Karley for a short period of time, I have so many fond memories and funny stories of the time we spent together.  This here is my favorite . . .

The Trapeze

In July 2015, Karley came to visit Mike and I in Virginia Beach for a few weeks.  One weekend the three of us went down to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront to walk around, do some shopping and of course, get some ice cream.  While we were out and about we noticed a giant trapeze set up right on the beach.  We checked it out and moved on but in the back of my mind I was thinking that I really wanted to give this a try.  As we were grabbing a bite to eat, Karley mentioned that she wanted to go back and maybe give it a try so of course, I was pumped!  After eating we went back to the trapeze to get in line but a storm was rolling in so they shut it down.  We were both disappointed and talked about how fun it would have been to try the rest of the day.

The next day was beautiful so we decided we'd go back.  The line was pretty long so we had a while to be nervous, talk and watch everyone take their turn before us.  Some people did amazing tricks and some people climbed back down in fear but we were determined to stick it out.  It was finally our turn and we were both freaking out.  Karley decided to go first so up the ladder she went.  At this point I'm about to wet my pants in fear but she was at the top so it was too late and I needed to start climbing.  Once I made it to the top, Karley, bless her heart, just couldn't get herself out far enough to grab the handle so we hugged and with tears in our eyes, she climbed back down.  I wanted to follow her down so bad but after all the hype I couldn't let us both down.  One of us needed to do this!  So here I am, a hundred feet off the beach, in a harness, trying not to pass out.  I grab hold of the handle, they push me off the ledge and . . . I am completely frozen dangling in the air!  I can't move.  Everyone is yelling at me to do something cool.  I can't.  I can't even swing my legs and just fly.  Nope.  Not happening.  Anyway, after a minute or two the workers finally talked me into letting go and, I kid you not, I fell like a feather to the netting (I even landed on my feet).  The trapeze worker was annoyed and I was completely embarrassed as I climbed down.  I met Mike and Karley at the photo booth, we took one look at the photo of me frozen in the air and laughed hysterically (I looked absolutely ridiculous  - of course, they already knew that)!  Unfortunately the system went down and I was unable to get a copy of that photo but the day will forever be ingrained in my memory.  That was my first and ONLY experience on a trapeze and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime.

Karley, its your time - try the trapeze!!  You can teach me your tricks when we meet again.
