I have fond memories of my Aunt Kay sitting poised at the piano and having a kind voice to all.❤️
Kay was born in 1938 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to Albert and Clara Mancini. She was the sister of Nicholas and Albert Jr.
She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and unyielding love for her family.
Kay was gifted a Steinway baby grand piano by her father in her youth and went on to become an accomplished classical pianist. She enjoyed attending Detroit Symphony Orchestra concerts during her years living in Michigan.
A graduate of The University of Michigan, Kay was a devoted teacher and eventually specialized in privately tutoring dyslexic students.
She married the love of her life, Stanley Louis Capp, on August 10 th , 1963, after meeting him on a church ski trip.
Kay volunteered at Cranbrook High School, but we suspect that was just to keep an eye on her two sons, Tom and Steve.
Her interests included sewing, needlepoint, and knitting. She was also an ace at crossword puzzles, solitaire, and jumbles.
She loved nothing more than spending quality time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and grand dogs. Family meant everything to her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Stanley, sons, Thomas (Dawn) and Stephen (Krista), and grandchildren Sebastian, Peyton, Mackenzie, and Parker. She is engrained in our hearts and will be deeply missed.

Some of my fondest memories of Kay go back many years. Going up to Grayling,exploring "up north", canoeing down the AuSable river. I was thriilled she asked me to be a junior bridesmaid in the wedding. She made all the bridesmaid dresses, she was so talented. Loved Kay at the piano every Christmas with the family singing carols.I also remember her culinary interest in trying new things, like making pesto from scratch. My favorite salad to make to this day is the "Kay"salad. There is a beautiful scarf hanging in my closet she recently made for me. I will remember her everytime i look at it. My love to Stanley, Tom, Steve and the family.

To Steve and your dad. I am so sorry for the loss of your lovely mom and dear wife. This is never an easy time and we can all sense your aloneness. Share your memories with other members of your family. They will always be there. You are in my heart and prayers.

Nine Letters!

When we told Kay our plan to name her firstborn grandson Sebastian her first words were “NINE LETTERS?!” But there was his handmade Christmas stocking with all 9 letters in needlepoint across the top for baby’s first Christmas and she just smiled when I realized what we had burdened her with for like everything going forward. She was so funny and patient and kind. I was blessed to call her Mom (only three letters...).
