I met Kay at a Local 195 Union meeting that she was invited as a Guest Speaker back in 1978. She was inspiring and dedicated to the work she did for the Downtown Mission in Windsor. We crossed paths many times over the years and I have to say that her commitment to a just society was astounding.
When she she retired I had the honour of doing a small presentation on behalf of the members. After the presentation she gave me a hug and whispered in my ear.
Many people asked me what she had said, it was a simple stern statement "You can't make me cry!" Then we both broke out in laughter.
Kay was a rock that everyone could depend on, so with the gratitude of so many I would like to offer my condolences to Kay Punter's family and friends.

Sincerly

Kay made so many large and small contributions to communities in Windsor/Essex. As a former Board member and chair of both Essex Presbytery and the Mission I was fortunate to work with Kay. One (of many) of my most vivid memories was Kay in her rubber boots wading through the flood in the basement of the Mission when it was in the former pizza restaurant intent on saving the foodbank items. Besides her hands on contributions she helped many of us understand directions we should be considering. I regret not having seen her since her move to London. Thanks Kay for all you did for so many.

My deepest condolences to Kay’s family. Kay and I worked together on the Downtown Mission board. She was a force to be reckoned with - her generous heart was well matched with her smart mind. She was never afraid to speak out up! She was a wonderful friend and mentor. In sympathy, Marion Overholt

We are so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Punter was my next door neighbour on Thompson when I was a teenager. I can remember hearing Mr. Punter typing his sermons through the open windows! We also went to Riverside United Church so I remember her well from that time. My husband always helped her fill her car after White Gift Sunday. She was a very hardworking, lovely lady. Our thoughts are with you. Mike and Margaret Hicks nee Hartford
