Kathryn Emily Rengepis
October 18, 1976 – April 20, 2018
Woolwich Township, NJ
Kathryn (Kathy) Emily Rengepis, daughter of Rev. Demetrios Calogredes and the late Hresanthe Calogredes, beloved wife to her husband, John, “Super Mom” to daughter Zoe and son James, loving sister to Steve and Nick, “sisters” Helen and Danielle, devoted aunt to Leo, Kristianna, Anastasia and Jenna, and wonderful daughter-in-law to John and Pauline, passed away after a long illness on Friday April 20, 2018.
Kathy was born in Queens, NY and grew up in West Virginia, Trenton and Long Island. She graduated from Stuart Country Day School in Princeton, NJ, received her Bachelor’s at Lehigh University which included a semester in Nottingham, England, and MBA from NYU. While working in finance in New York City, she met and fell in love with John. After moving to Woolwich, and becoming a mom to two precious children, Kathy’s career and lifestyle quickly changed. She soon adapted to and embraced the rural community. Kathy turned a house into a home filled with joy and happiness for John and their children.
Kathy had the innate ability to build friendships with anyone. She recognized the needs of others and would always put aside her own time to provide a helping hand. Her compassion has left her with friendships others admire. Kathy always resonated with positive energy and her kindness not only touched those who had the opportunity to meet her, she created a lasting advocacy for the parents and children living within her community by starting SEPAC (Special Education Parents Advisory Committee) in Woolwich to educate parents about available programs to help their children.
Kathy was an active member at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill where she was a Sunday School teacher and counselor for the Summer day camp. Her devotion, love and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has guided her through her life and always. Although Kathy and John were only married 11 years, the love that they shared for each other could not be matched. Her beauty is eternal and will never be forgotten.
Viewing will be at Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St, Cherry Hill, NJ, Tuesday April 24th, 2-4 pm and 6:30-9pm, and April 25th 9-10 am followed by Funeral Services at 10 am. Burial Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in Kathy’s Honor to the St. Thomas Youth Ministry.

From a young age the attributes describing Kathy above existed from a child and we were so proud to see her accomplishments in college and then see her flourish as a Wife and Mom.
To her beloved family, we express our sincerest sympathy. All we can offer you now is our prayers that God grant you all the needed strength during this difficult time. May God keep her memory eternal.
Love from “Theo” Jim and “Thea” Goldie.

A truly SPECIAL lady
Kathy, as I knew her, was my Lehigh freshman roommate. I couldn't have asked for a better person to start college with. Even before starting Lehigh, we wrote letters to each other and I knew her before I even saw her face. Meeting her and her wonderful family (her mom, dad and two brothers) at Lehigh on the 1st day back in 1994...was something I will always remember. Kathy was a sweet, loving person. Exactly what I expected from all that she wrote in her letters. We had a wonderful freshman year and we were fortunate to remain good friends all the way to senior year...when we lived together in a rented house (with our other good friends Dianne, Lisa and Camille) on Birkel Ave.
After Lehigh, life took us in different directions and we lost touch. But Kathy will always have a special place in my heart. And I have thought of her & misses her friendship throughout the past 20+ years since Lehigh. Alot of fond memories. I'm sorry to have found out about her passing via the Lehigh Bullentin magazine today (Aug. 18, 2018.)
Kathy...I will love & remember you ALWAYS. I will always remember that beautiful, genuine smile you had and how charismatic you were. There is no doubt that you touched alot of lives and brought your friends & family much love and comfort. I'm sorry we lost touch. You and your family will be in my heart and prayers, always.
You will always be a truly SPECIAL lady!
Life at Carret Asset Management
Kathy joined Carret Asset Management, a New York investment firm, in 2001. Carret had just opened an office in Garden City, Long Island. This worked for Kathy who was living with her parents not far away. As we expected, Kathy was tops--friendly, agreeable, smart, helpful, careful, respected and well liked. She performed in a silly musical skit we did at a Carret Christmas party.
Working with Carret and me was great (?) but even better things were ahead. Carret left Garden City in 2003 and moved to Manhattan. Kathy left the nest and got an apartment in NYC. Then came John, marriage, move to southern New Jersey, Zoe and James. That is moving onward and upward, even though it meant leaving Carret. Kathy visited us a couple of times in the city, and I last saw her at her mother’s service in March last year. She was dealing with her illness then in a totally positive way.
You are the best, Kathy. Love always,
Your friends at Carret. Sandy Pearson
