Today is 1 year since my Mom passed away. She passed away from various hospitalization-related complications, but a very aggressive glioblastoma multiforme tumor started it all in Oct 2014. It's fitting that there is some recent positive news (http://neurosciencenews.com/glioblastoma-nbd-neurology-3383/) on the progress of this death sentence disease that currently cannot be predicted nor mitigated in any viable way ... but it won't bring my Mom back.

I was there in the pre-OR just before her emergency brain surgery. She didn't recognize me, but talked to me about me and Dad in 3rd person and how proud she was of her two boys.

I miss you dearly every day, Mom.

We still feel your presense Kathryn! So many times throughout the year, something or someone would remind me of you. Be it a beautiful bird visiting our window, or a beautifully wrapped gift, or just shopping in the mall looking at lovely items that would remind me of you because I know you would appreciate it. Family get-togethers will never be the same without your bubbly laugh. Gone too soon :-( Miss you much! Rest in peace xo

On this day - the first of March - I always spoke to Katia and today when I woke up my first thought was that on this birthday -her 70th- I could not speak to my Good Friend.

Both Kat and I are so deeply saddened to learn of Kathryn's passing last month. Our hearts go out to you both in this most difficult of times. 

Kathryn was such a loving and kind person and I fondly remember how happy and welcome I always felt in your home. You all meant so much to my family and I. I know my parents greatly treasured your friendship.

Yet, what I will always remember most is the absolute kindness, patience, support, and love, Kathryn showed to my mother as she struggled with her debilitating illness for so many years. I remain filled with never-ending gratitude to you both - dear Boris and Kathryn.

Kathryn was truly a wonderful and beautiful person and she will always be in our heart.

Kathryn touched our hearts from the moment we met her. Her kindness and attention to detail was inspiring. She never failed to make us feel loved and welcome in her home. We loved her very much and she will be sorely missed.
