My mom was born October 28th 1946 to Katherine and John gleeson. She was there first born of 12 children. Two died at birth. My mom lived on a farm wich came with a lot of responsibility’s. My mom and her other siblings were always working on the farm and helping there parents out. She was taught hard work and responsibilities at a very young age. There were a lot of times she would stay home from school and help my grandmother out when she had another child so grandpa could take care of the farm. She grew up in when times were very rough but they had the basics of what they needed. She was in a beauty contest and had a lot of accomplishments while in high school. She was always a straight a student in school despite what was going on at home. She went to hermann high school and there is were she met my father Kenny Marvin Scheidegger and they married. Not for sure what yr. My dad had his own tavern/ Restuarant in hermann mo for several yrs. when my mom could she would help with that. Later into there marriage she developed chroma diease and ended up having 15 major surgeries threw out her life. I was born in 1970 in hermann mo. My mom was in and out of the hospital alit threw my infant yrs and toddler year’s because they didn’t know much about it or how to treat it. I was raised by both of my grandparents while she was in the hospital so my dad could attend to his business. My mom and dad got a divorce when I was 8 yrs old and that’s when me and my mom located to Columbia mo. My mom went to college to get her masters in social work. She was a straight a stun dent in college and made it in Who’s Who’s book. She worked very hard her whole life and especially in cologne to make sure she could provide me with a better life. My mom was a very independent woman and accomplishe a lot in her life. She was forced to retire back in 1990 from the university hospital in Columbia as a supervisor over the ob department. She worked with young adults or teenagers after they had there baby to make sure they could take it home or if they wanted to give it up for adoption. She lived her job very much and was very good at what she did. It broke her heart when she was forced to retire early. My mom was a very good mother I never wanted for nothing. After she was forced to retire her new journey in life was to take on animals that were being abused. We had 12 animals all together. Mostly cats. That gave her a purpose in life again. My son was born in 10-10-1990 and she was a very very proud grandmother as I was a very proud mamma. My mom was busy helping me raise my son and taking care of animals the rest of her life until god took her home on 7-31-2017. She devoted all her time to her family and taking care of them. She joined alit of different animal organizations and donated to alit of them and got several awards doing so. She was a animal advocate. My mom loved her grandson Derek lee Scheidegger so much and enjoyed her time with him and of course showing him off. I am sure if she would’ve lived until 2019 to her great grandson be born she would be just as proud of him as she is dere k but unfortunately that didn’t happen. That all she talked about to Derek and lo was when r u giving me that great granbaby lol. Love u so much mom and miss u dearly. Know one could’ve asked for a better mother than u. I was blessed to have such a caring, strong,independent, mother like u. Thanks for devoting most of your life to helping me and Derek. Ready easy my angel. Not here but not forgotte
