Katrina was born on Nov.16 1984 in Fairfield, California......at 2weeks old SHE was hospitalized with pneumonia so test were run to check for cystic fibrosis since she had a brother Bobby who already had the horrible genetic disease ..so the test proved she had it also....for the most part of her childhood she was quiet healthy and was even a cheerleader in Jr-sr high school then in November of her senior year she caught a Deadly pneumonia which started everything To go down hill from there ....so for the next 10 years her disease took it's own path and she was hospitalized numerous times a year for weeks at a time.then in May 2008 she had a J-tube put in to help her eat ad maintain her weight ,but for the next 4 years , everything went way bad and her lungs got so bad that she needed a double lung transplant..so by May of 2010 she started all the tests and everything needed to qualify for the transplant and got approved but every 3 months she had Togo to Pittsburgh to 're-qualify for the transplant which was very exhausting for her and be cause she was on oxygen 24 hours a day also you would half to take several bottles with you for the 3 hour trip each way!!!! No matter how sick she was she never complained and was always up beat and happy!!!! She lived a happy. Life and was so very happy to have her niece Bryleigh who she loved more then a anything!!! the 2 of them would sit for hours and do crafts together.....and then there was Chase her nephew, who she loved more then anything also but being a 3year old little boy.....he was a little hand full at times!!! On December 17 2011there was a benefit for Katrina to raise 50 thousand toward her transplant expenses, and she insisted she wanted to be there, which was not a good idea, due to germs and stuff but she went and shortly within days she got super sick and ended up in the hospital 1last time on the29 of December, which she ended up in c.c.u. and was on a by-pap machine and another special one also she was expedited to the top of the list and was so happy and scared that she finally was gonna be some what normal again and would be able to breathe without the use of oxygen!!!!!! just to be able to do things that we all take for granted, like walking and bathing!!! She couldn't wait to do all the things she no longer could do....... I'm just so glad her dad and I got to spend 1 last day with her on Jan.7.....if only we would of known it was her last day.......but there's no way of knowing something like that's gonna happen....the last thing she said to me was...I love you mom !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be never forget you my Angel....... Your memories will forever be etched in our hearts and your memories will always be with us!!!! We love and miss you more then anything my Angel........
