Memories of Kathryn, a dear Friend.

December 24, 2015

Kathryn loved shrimp scampi, cotton candy, tupelo honey, The Young and the Restless soap opera and the Seminoles. I loved seeing her face light up when I would bring her some cotton candy. She loved going to the Red Lobster when they had the AYCE shrimp special. Kathryn, Doris and I would get together to watch the FSU Seminole football games and one night Kathryn said "Well I guess they will have to fick a kield goal " and we all about fell in the floor laughing. Doris and I still say it during ballgames and laugh all over again, thinking about our dear friend. We would get together to go eat-out once or twice a week, until she got so sick and could no longer go out. Sometimes we would just pick up something and take it to her place and eat there with her. Kathryn had a little yorkie dog, Lily, that she loved but had to give her away when she moved out of her house into an assisted living facility, due to fear of tripping over her plus Lily's toenails would tear Kathryn's fragile skin when he sat in her lap and cuddled with her. Kathryn had a sweet cat, Zazu. Doris and I went with her to the animal shelter when she adopted Zazu. She was the perfect companion for Kathryn because she was sweet, gentle and low maintenance. I have many good memories with Kathryn and Doris over the past 4 to 5 years. Doris was a very dependable and loyal best friend to Kathryn for many years. As Kathryn's health declined she was always there for her to help out. They would talk on the phone every morning to check on each other and just talk. Doris took her to her Dr. appts. and would pick up groceries for her when she was no longer able to drive. She was always there for Kathryn, a true frienvd. Doris, Kathryn and I had many laughs and good times together. She was a dear friend and I will miss her very much. Knowing her was a true blessing to me.  Doris and I visited with Kathryn the morning of the day she passed away. We told her goodbye and that we loved her. She wasn't able to respond but I believe she knew we were there. Kathryn, my dear friend, you will always be loved and you will never be forgotten. See you again one day. Debbie Bradford.
