It is an honour to write an eulogy about Engr. Kehinde Ayoola Fadahunsi. I wish I were at his 90th birthday party delivering a speech about him instead of writing a tribute for his funeral.
I had known Engr. Kehinde Ayoola Fadahunsi at a very young age when my dad, also late, was building one of his houses. But I got to know him better when he and his wife Mrs Christiana Fadahunsi welcomed me into their home in January, 1994 to live with them and complete my education after the demise of my dad.
Ever since, I had known him to be a caring father, guidance, counsellor and mentor. He sponsored me through my final class in Secondary school and tertiary institution. He was supportive in all areas, always ready to help and guide. He showed understanding at all times and never minced words. He also supported me in my business greatly. I and my husband were really fond of him as he gave my husband a nickname. He was really fun to be with.
Old age was not a barrier for him. Even at old age, he was zealous for the Lord, energetic, forgiving and interactive.
The Lord took him on the day of the Lord. God makes no mistake s. He was a special of the Lord. A caring father who used to pray for his children. He would tell me each time we spoke on phone that he always prayed for me.
He was my chitchat partner. I will always miss our chats, jokes and laughter. His last statement keeps echoing in my ears till date. He said, he was a winner, he was coming out strong.
Indeed, daddy, you are a winner.
Rest on daddy...
Adieu daddy
Adieu my mentor
Adieu my friend
Adieu great man of God.
