KEITH A MILLER

April 7, 2021
Keith Arlen Miller, 68, of Albany, Oregon passed away Thursday, March 18th, at his brother’s home in Lebanon. He was born in Lebanon, Oregon to Earl and Grace (Gerig) Miller on September 29, 1952, the oldest of six sons. Keith was raised on several farms around the Lebanon area.  He spent his early years milking registered Jersey cows and hauling hay with his brothers in the summers where he learned the value of hard work and doing a job well.

Keith graduated from Western Mennonite School in 1972.  Following his graduation, he spent two years of voluntary service as an orderly and maintenance farm worker at Froh Community Home in Sturgis, Michigan. He returned to Lebanon and worked at Lebanon Community Hospital in housekeeping for several years.  From Lebanon he moved to Portland and completed a 3-year study at Portland Bible College. Keith continued to live and work in Portland for the better part of a decade in a variety of jobs faithful to the values of hard work he had learned in his youth.

About the year 1988 he returned to the Lebanon/Albany area, living the last 20 years of his life in an apartment on 6th Ave in central Albany. Here again he worked a variety of jobs, his last being housekeeping and cooking for persons of disability.

Keith faithfully attended Lebanon Mennonite Church most of his life where his parents were charter members.  He also attended many evening services at Fairview Mennonite Church in Albany. Giving to his church and other charitable organizations was something he did consistently as an adult.

The things Keith liked to do included; spending time with his extended family; attending farm equipment related events; keeping current with local and national news and listening to religious broadcasting. Especially meaningful for Keith, was the Sunday after church meals at Bings Restaurant with parents, aunts and uncles, siblings and their families.

He is survived by his parents, Earl and Grace Miller of Lebanon; brothers: Ron Miller of Albany, Clinton Miller of Lebanon, James Miller of Lebanon, Paul Miller of Scio, Roger Miller of Salem and many nieces and nephews.
