My brother loved books. Some of his favorite books while we were growing up included:

The Thirteen Clocks, by James Thurber. He was the Golux in a school play, and would commonly quote from the book.

The Weirdstone of Brisingamen and The Moon of Gomrath by Alan Garner. My sister and I were fascinated with the story and later visited the sites mentioned in the book. Keith tells that he wrote to Mr. Garner, narrowly missed meeting him on a train platform in England.

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. A family favorite.
