Kelly D Spearman

December 13, 2011

On March 1st 1994 I met Kelly.  At the time he worked at Wildens Pride Dodge as & thier wholesale parts man.  We called us @ Walton's Salvage; my fathers wrecking yard.  I remember talking to him for about 10 minutes before transferring the call to Judy; the gal he was used to talking to.  Being very inquisitive (nice word for nosey) I listened to her end of the conversation & figured out he was asking about me. I heard her say "that's Jerry's daughter, she's 25 & yeah she has a boyfriend' Once Judy hung up, I quizzed her & I was all giddy from a 10 minutes conversation.  Kelly called a couple more times within 3 or 4 days.  During 1 of our talks, I learned that the following week he was going to be on vacation & I would be moving.  He offered to help me move & said he just had to clean his carpets.  The time came for moving & that week also included my birthday which I had mentioned to him during 1 of our talks.  I moved & didn't bother him for help.  After all he was on vacation. but when my birthday came I received a dozen of the most beautiful roses with a card signed Best Wishes,  Right then I knew I had snagged me a good 1.  One month later, another dozen roses showed up.  We continued to talk on the phone & decided after 2 months to meet in person.  Within the 2 months, I broke up with my boyfriend & stalked Kelly wthout his knowledge to see where he lived, what he looked like, what he drove... ect!  From talking on the phone, we learned alot from eachother, so when we met in person we were already in love.  Kelly was the 1st man who treated me with respect & kindness.  He was really loving, polite, caring & just wanted me to be happy. Our relationship continued & by September we were talking about marriage, on September 23rd I went over to spend the night & I remember when I walked into his apartment the smell of dinner came from the kitchen, candles were lit all over & he immediatly asked me to sit on the couch because he needed to talk to me.  I got a little nervous because we had broken up 3 weeks earlier due to my bossiness but had made up.  In the back of my head I thought maybe he changed his mind, instead he knelt down & pulled out a beautiful ring and asked me to marry him.  I was taken back & after the shock wore off I said yes!!  The next morning I went to my parents & told my mom.  Never did I think that 17 yrs later that I would be saying goodbye to the love of my life.
