Kenneth Wayne Geer (1945-2019)

Kenneth Wayne Geer, born on August 22, 1945, went to his final home to be with Jesus on January 11, 2019.  He was born to Hilton and Viola Geer at San Diego Naval Air Base in California. Ken grew up in the Capitol Hill area of Oklahoma City where he graduated from Southeast High School.  He then went on to Central State in Edmond to become a teacher. Ken was drafted into the U.S. Army and served 2 years in Korea. Returning home safely, he taught in public education for over 36 years.  Some of his schools include Prairie Queen, Capitol Hill Middle School, Ridgecrest Elementary, and Southern Hills Elementary. He was an active member in church his whole life; some of the churches he served in included Lambath Memorial Methodist Church, Southern Hills Baptist Church, Hilltop Baptist Church, First Southern Baptist Church, Grace Place Baptist Church, and Crestview Baptist Church.  He was a devoted father and a true patriot to his country. He is survived by his son, Joshua Geer, and daughter, Jessica Fields. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy, and her husband Bob Bedingfield. He also has two grandchildren, Sophia and Viola Fields. Ken has numerous cousins and other family members who continue to live in and around the Oklahoma City area. Services will be held at Grace Place Baptist Church at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 19th.  In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made in his name to Little Ones Ministry or the Alzheimer’s Association. His impact on Oklahoma and its citizens will live on for generations.
