Woof Woof Woof

June 30, 2021
A funny story about Ken that I forgot about and Elaine reminded me of a week ago

A couple years ago we had to evict one of our tenant's about two weeks before Christmas.  His baby mama (they were always on again off again and at this point they were off) got really upset with us to the point that I had to call the law.  Then she kept blowing up Elaine's phone with nasty text.

I was running on about three days with zero sleep and about 8 pm I finally laid down and went SOUND asleep.  About three hours later Elaine is shaking me away and trying to tell me the alarm is going off and the dog is going "woof woof woof" (the control screen for our alarm system is set to make different sounds depending on which door get's opened, and the carport door is rottweiler's barking).

When I finally realized what Elaine was saying I went storming out of my room toward the kitchen yelling at Elaine to call 911.  I was ready to kick that dumb bimbo's butt (I truly thought she had been stupid enough to break into our house).  Rounding the corner of the fridge I found Ken standing there trying to get the chair that we always put in front of the door to remind us that the alarm is set, out of his way so he could then try and figure out how to turn off the alarm.

From that point onward, if the carport door was closed when he got here he would walk around to the office and ring the buzzer, for fear of setting off the "woof woof woof" again.....I would give anything to have him cause the dogs to bark again!!!!!!

On our couch

June 8, 2021
Ken used to show up unannounced and then spend any were from 1 day to as long as a week camped out on our couch watching what ever he wanted (we have every channel Comcast offer's and about every streaming service there is).  If I talked to him and he said he would be at the yard the next day all I had to say was "I'll make my Alfredo sauce" and we were guaranteed that he would show up.  We have an alarm system on our house but us three old biddies felt safer with him here then with him on the road and the alarm set.  We could never get enough of his visits and right now the place on the couch that we always called "Ken's seat" is not allowed to be sat in, and it will take me a long, Long, LONG time to stop looking for his red pick up to be parked in the drive when I return from town.  He LOVED showing us photos of Archer and funny post from Facebook.  In the past week I've had to stop making my coffee to sit and cry because it dawned on me that never again will I get to ask him "you ready for a cup?".  Today I made my first trip to Walmart since learning of his passing and it dawned on me that I won't need to keep as much coffee on hand any longer.  Everytime he came to visit I always told him that I need one of his special hugs.  My heart is broken in a trillion pieces and I can only imagine how his family is feeling.  Just know that y'all are in our thoughts and Prayers!!!!!!
