Lehigh Acres- Kent Michael Purcell, 61, died on Friday, January 23,2015 while surrounded by his loving family.

Kent leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Carolyn Purcell; his son, Aaron
Edwards; his daughters, Crystal Hicks and Lisa Edwards; son in law, Willie
Hicks; and his four grandchildren, Jakiell Hicks, Alicia Hicks, Tianna
Harrell, and Lillianna Harrell. Other family members include, Candy Flower,
Wilbur Flower, and Nathan Flower.

Kent was born in Haver De Grace, Maryland to the parents of William Purcell
and Joan Purcell. He has traveled all over the world but finally landed in
Virginia to raise his family. After many years in Virginia he settled in
Florida to get away from the cold weather.

Kent was a jack of all trades. In his early years, he made a career as an
auto mechanic. He took pride in his work and it showed through his kindness
by helping others. He was always building his tool collection and had cars
that needed work. He was able to do anything to a car from the body work
and the paint job, to the engine work. He was also capable of repairing
things around the house including; plumbing, electrical, drywall, roofing,
framing, and painting. He was always busy doing repairs at home or helping
others with side jobs.

Kent has always had a passion for animals. Cats were his love. He would
bring home all different animals because he felt they too, needed to be fed
and loved.

Kent was an un-baptized Jehovah's Witness or over 30 years. He loved
attending the meetings and used every opportunity to witness to others. He
went to the extent of turning a school bus into a camper to use while
traveling to build Kingdom Halls in Virginia. He eventually donated the bus
to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses to help aid in the construction
of many more Kingdom Halls.

There will be a service for Kent Purcell on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at
5:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on 206 Lee Blvd, Lehigh Acres, FL, 33936.

That was so sweetly written. I would agree with what was said, I remember him always working on cars. Boy did he have car parts galore. I loved that garage and school bus! Many fond memories on the bus, yard, the cats, sleepovers, hide n seek, the swing, and every type of playing you could imagine. Real family vibes. I love you guys and miss you all. I learned some things I never knew about him written in the obituary but it wouldn't surprise me. Love u uncle Kent.
Katrice, you know... Kathy and Mike's daughter... :: smile ::

:( I will always remember coming over, stopping in his room to just say hello and before I even sat down he would give me a hug, and then persuade me to sit down and watch the races with him. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. He was such a kind-hearted man that made sure whenever I came to say hello or goodbye I always got a hug. I will miss his hugs. Rest in paradise.

I wish I had more time to get to know him. The short time I got was priceless. I do remember few childhood memories I cherish. He is loved and missed! My prayers to my family.

You were an Old Soul and I will miss you. I take comfort in the words Emmanuel told me when my wife died:" God doesn't consider it a tragedy every time He calls someone home" I call it "graduation from earth school." still, You will by sorely missed by your many friends and relatives. Dad
