Born in 1920!in Madison, S.D., Kathryn received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from South Dakota State College in 1951. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota, from which she received her M.Ed. in Nursing in 1955.

Kathryn taught Nursing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in the mid-1960s and worked at various psychiatric nursing facilities throughout western Massachusetts in the 1970s. In a career shift, she took a position as a librarian assistant at Franklin County Technical School, Turners Falls, where she worked until her retirement. Then Kathryn move back to Detroit Michigan to be with her family.

Kath loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her husband William Hollis-Walker  Son’s Tim Walker , Shawn Walker, Sister:   Sheila Walker  Sisters-in-law Mary Hollis  (4)Grandchildren  Larry  Hollis ,Shawn Walker,  Terrence Walker-Hollis , Robin Walker  Brittany Walker   (12) Great grand Children  Lily ,Shamar,   Destiny , Kimberly  ,Owen  Rodrick ,Marvin ,Stacy, James jr ,Brandon , Bre’ana Betty  Hollis Walker . Nieces:   Samantha Hollis ,Tabitha Winslow-Walker and (2) special  grandnieces, Shayla Hollis -Walker, Kimberly Walker who she brought A great joy to there life’s for  years. And a host of family and friends.
