This memorial website was created in memory of Kevin Ferguson. He was the son of Ronald and Berneice Ferguson, father of Laura and Craig Ferguson, husband of Gail and later Margaret, brother to Donald, Elaine, Ronnie, and Ian, grandfather of Leah, great grandfather of Destiny and Lily, and uncle and cousin to many. As a young man he served in the Royal Canadian Navy in HMC Ships/Submarines Fraser, Ojibwa, Onondaga, and Okanaga, and he remembered fondly those years and friendships.
We will remember him always.

Photos, messages and stories from friends and family are gratefully welcomed. Please feel free to add them to this site as it is a shared memorial for all of us.

Back to the Sea

Another sailor lad goes back to the foam

He has crossed the bar and it’s time to roam

Fair winds will now take good care of you

Join with shipmates and meet the old crew

Your watch is done and it’s time to sleep

You will be missed here, and many will weep

However, your ship will sail you to new shores

Time for rest as you have done all your chores

You have proudly served upon the choppy wave

Now be rewarded for the royal service you gave

A tot of rum waits for you in the heavenly bar above

Always the beer glass will be served with joy and love
The drinks are free for it is always a happy hour

No more pot mess or food that’s gone stale or sour

Only the best is provided for you on this luxury cruise

Sail away your duty is done, and you have paid your dues

I wish you comfort during this very difficult time. I know Fergie will be missed. What we have enjoyed and loved we can never lose.

Hi Kevin,
Well this is one hell of a shock. I can remember you on 7406 in Cornwallis and then when we met again on subs. It seems long ago and just yesterday. Take care my old friend.

On behalf of the Submariners Association of Canada East, its Executive and Members we offer our condolences to Kevin's family and his many friends at this time. Kevin will not be forgotten for his time served in Submarines. I sailed with Kevin in Okanagan in 1976/77. He was a AB Radioman. May all his good deeds be a Blessing in his Memory. RIP Kevin. I was shocked when we were told yesterday at the submarine association BBQ that Kevin Ferguson had passed away recently. I will always remember Kevin quite fondly from our times sailing together on HMCS Okanagan. in the 80s

Sailed with Kevin in submarines, ONONDAGA - late 70s. He was quite the character - was quite gregarious and constantly filled with enthusiasm.  RIP shipmate - we have the watch.
