Hard to believe it's been 11 years now since Kevin's passing. I was flying on that day with my family from Oklahoma to Russia to resume our cross-cultural service as missionaries. Upon our arrival, I read the news of Kevin's home-going. It was a huge blow, but it also caused me, even in the midst of jetlag, to recommit myself to the Lord's mission and double down for Jesus. Even as I type this, I'm listening to Sweet Comfort Band. Kevin's labor in the Lord continues to bear fruit for the kingdom of God.

Today is your belly button birthday- but I know your "Real Life" began on May 30, 2010 when you went home to be with the Lord. It is hard to believe it has now been 7 years since you went home. Sure miss you Kev.

Blessings to the family and loved ones of our dear friend Kevin at this time of year and tears of joy for the triumphant reunion with his Savior and Creator.....Oh what a day of rejoicing that will be! .... when we all meet up with our Master and sing His praises and glory forever.

Kevin was such a funny guy. He was so understated even on stage. Once, he was talking about how great the show was going to be and how he had something awesome to share with the crowd that night; he lowered his Alembic bass so the audience could see the LED's as fret markers on his bass....! People went wild. He had used his personality to entertain and hoodwink us all.. the glue for SCB.

I was thinking of Kevin just a few days ago as I was listening to some SCB music while working in my office...yes, it seems like it was just y-day that I read online he had passed on...I continue to rejoice in his legacy and how the Lord keeps His children strong and encouraged even after the death of a beloved bro like Kevin...

Kevin went on to be in the presence of the Lord as my family was flying back to Ufa, Russia where we have lived and served for 11 years now...hard to believe he's been gone a year now...his and SCB's music and ministry continue to bless me and spur m

Has it been a year already? Time passes here different than it does for you Kevin. You are missed, but we will see you soon. Save a place for me at the table.

I cant even begin to imagine what your experiencing right now in my time here. May your family continue to be uplifted & blessed by the One we all long to meet face to face one day.

This is a wonderful site for an outstanding man and musician. I know God will continue to bless you all and your continuing ministries.

My family and I serve in Ufa, Russia...Kevin graduated to heaven as my family was in the air flying to Russia after some time in the states...pretty cool thinking he passed us somewhere while we were in the air...I starting listening to SCB and being discipled via the music and its message starting in 1977 in Tulsa, OK and still have 2 SCB cds I play in my van here in Russia nearly every day.

I'll always remember Kevin's smile and a hug he gave me when I waited to meet the band after a gig. Although he was soaking wet in sweat from playing so hard I didn't seem to mind. I was meeting the guys for the first time it was so cool. Thank you.

1979 New Year's Eve, The markee @ Calvary Chapel Riverside said, "Sweet Comfort". I was the furthest thing from a Christian, but after hearing Kevin preach, I gave my life to the Lord. Thankyou, Kevin

At 43, it is amazing the impact of your music has on my heart and life. God's grace transcends all SCB has done, anything we could do, and continue to bless and nurture our souls. Thanks Kevin!

And Jesus said... "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." Kevin is in his place.

Kevin and SCB were the source of many blessings to me after coming to Christ in 1976. Thanks for the many concerts and your heart-felt sharing of the gospel. It took root in my heart.

I only have good memories of Kevin and his hard work and gentle way I pray for comfort be given to his Family during this time. I will be there Wed at Calvary to say "Goodbye" for now

Kevin was not only a great musician, but also a loving, caring person. The times I saw SCB in the late 70s and early 80s, Kevin always went out of his way for others. RIP, my friend!

As an SCB fan for their entire run (11 concerts in 11 years) I found Kevin to be the most humble. Maybe that's because he was also the most quiet, except on the bass! Praise on!

I have great memories of seeing Kevin and Sweet Comfort in Tulsa in the early 80s. I very much enjoyed meeting him after the show. All the best to his family. Thanks for the blessings.

The memories of the shows I promoted with Sweet C and Kevin are cherished. Kevin now gets to meet some Sweet C fans who are in heaven because of his passionate ministry at those concerts.

Kevin, your ministry in SCB was one of the things that really locked it in for me. I am eternally thankful. May God comfort your loved ones as you enjoy the place He has prepared for you.

My condolences to you Rick and the rest of your family..I grew up on your guys music and you will forever be a part of my life that i can look back upon and be proud of who i was at the time..

I will always remember Kevin for the strong witness for the Lord that he gave. He was not easily intimidated. He loved music, the LORD and the advancement of God's work. We will miss you Kevin!
