Katie was a sweet, wonderful woman full of love for the Detroit Tigers, her kids, her husband, Fred and her extended family (in that order :) ... she really loved a lot, and all the kids, grand kids and great grand kids felt special. She always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by so many people, and she was loved by so many people including myself. You are in a special place now, Katie ... surrounded by your loved ones who were patiently waiting for you. 100 years ... what a life!

Kathryn was always so bubbly, thoughtful and full of positive energy. I had the pleasure of meeting her at her daughter Carolyn's home. I know she is dearly missed by her family and friends.

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Kathryn (Katie) had a spirit like no other. She was a Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, sister, daughter and amazing friend to so many people. She lit the room with her presence and loved everyone equally. You just felt so lucky to meet her. She is and always will be in our hearts.
