Dearest Kim, thoughts of you entered my mind as I was waking this morning, not realizing at the time today is the 4 th anniversary of your passing. You are so dearly missed and always remembered. Xoxo

   On this anniversary of your passing, I continue to think of you day by day and knowing myself the way I do, that will never change.
   In the early 90's you predicted an alarming global situation was bound to come, which you prepared for at that time and now that situation has arrived in the form of a very serious worldwide pandemic.
   You were ahead of the curve in so many things in life Kim and I commend you on that special quality that you possessed. But sadly for us you were taken by another terrible disease.
   Hopefully we will survive this crisis and things will get back to normal, whatever normal is, but big changes to world issues from all countries must occur for this to happen.

Happy Birthday Cousin, You will never be forgotten, may your spirit shine down on us, Love your cousin

The spring of 2006 I was on my way back to my newly purchased condo and saw people with a lovely friendly dog named Riven. As Kim, her partner Bill & I talked, we discovered that Bill's cousin was my contractor, whom I hired to renovate my unit, and that's how our friendship began. 

Over time Kim & I became like sisters. She was so open minded that no topic was taboo. Kimmy was different from any person I've ever known. She was kind and always ready to help anyone in need, but her true love and devotion was towards animals and nature. She truly was a beautiful free spirit.

I've searched for the right words to describe Kim, and the only one that comes close is "earth angel". Maybe that's why she felt alone is because there aren't that many like her around. 

Yes she left too soon, but she did it on her terms, the way she did everything. I miss you Kimmy and feel blessed for the time we had together. You are free of any pain and soaring with the "heavenly angels" now, enjoying all that is beautiful until we meet again.

It has been over 35 years since I last saw Kim, when we happened to meet in a corridor of St. Michael's Hospital. I remember us playing together as small children at the home of her parents, Bill and Joy. I am so sad to hear of her passing at such a young age and send my condolences to all her family.

Although I haven't seen Kim for thirty-five years, I enjoyed seeing her at family reunions at Uncle George's homes, and at Toronto General Hospital. I was unaware that Kim had passed away last year. She was a kind and thoughtful person, and it is really sad she is gone so soon. My sincere condolences to Bill, Billy K., and all those who loved her.

A beautiful person, a beautiful soul. Our Angel Kim. You are so dearly missed, so dearly remembered. When we met, 37 years ago, I knew we had a special connection. I am so grateful for our friendship and thankful, as life moved on and took us in different directions, we remained close and kept contact. I'm so happy we spoke the Christmas before your passing and only wish we were able to firm up our plan to meet for lunch. Rest peacefully my dear friend. Keep an eye on all your loved ones, until we meet again. ❤

Both Penny and I believe it was by fate that around mid October of 2015 we crossed paths with Kimberly. We met late one night at a grocery store line up right at closing time. She was in front of us with two grocery carts overflowing with probably most of the organic produce in the store. Penny offered to help Kim to her car with one of the carts. By the time I paid for my few groceries, I reunited with Penny and Kim in the parking lot. There was a serious tone to the conversation. It was revealed that Kim had advanced cancer. At that very moment we all tearfully became friends.
  I always thought that it was by fate that I met Penny for many reasons. One reason being that her uncle's birthday was the same as my sister's. Kim shared the same birthday, November 25th. What are the odds. We were all connected and destined to meet, and somehow, by some miracle, we did meet.
  Days after Penny and her son Cody went to help Kim at her country home, I received a call that she needed our help. Cody left work early at which time I picked up Penny and we all rushed to assist Kim in any way we could. When we arrived, she was weak but for the most part in good spirits perhaps because we were all willing to do whatever she wanted. My job was to tear apart cooked chicken in bite sized pieces that I placed in plastic containers destined for the freezer. This was to be food for the next couple of weeks for her loving dog Riven who was also battling a disease. Riven moved slowly but would always want to be by Kim's side. Two inseparable, loving souls. Kim had trouble getting comfortable in her makeshift bed on her living room couch. We provided whatever food or drink she asked for. She was not able to keep anything down. We all knew her feeling about doctors and hospitals but ultimately we decided it was time to call 911 and have paramedics take Kim to the hospital. With some persuading, she agreed to go with several conditions. She wanted to brush her teeth and she wanted a bath. Penny ran the bath. Cody carefully lifted Kim and placed her in the bathtub. She was far too weak to do so herself. Penny carefully bathed her. I went outside to wait for the paramedics and tearfully reflected on the whole situation. When the paramedics arrived, I explained the whole scenario to them. they were very pleasant and accommodating. They were patient to all of Kim's requests. She insisted on being covered with her late father's bathrobe which she cherished. It took some time till Kim was in the ambulance and satisfied she had everything. A pen, paper, toothpaste, a toothbrush and some items of clothing.
  We arrived at the hospital approximately 11.30pm on Tuesday March 22, 2016. Suzette, Kim's sister in law, was already there waiting. Cody stayed behind at the house for a few minutes using Kim's telephone contacts to try to contact family members and then met Penny and I at the hospital .The nurses diligently provided Kim with whatever she wanted to create the comfort she lacked being at home including extra pillows and blankets. Kim was grateful and commented that she didn't remember the last time she felt this comfortable.
  Other family members started to arrive. Kim's mother, brothers and a niece. All were naturally upset. At one point the doctor arrived while I was there and asked that I leave while he explained his prognosis from blood tests that were conducted. Kim insisted I stay and declared I was her power of attorney for health care, something she just made up so she didn't have to hear the news alone. The doctor was blunt and to the point. Kim was dying and didn't have much time. I felt like I was stabbed in the heart. Kim stared with little reaction. When the doctor left, she was still hopeful and wanted me or Cody to take her to a naturopath in Georgetown. As weak as she was, Kim was determined to fight this disease with every ounce of strength she had left in her frail body. she was a fighter, a strong beautiful woman.
  Kimberly Bell succumbed to her illness in the early morning of Wednesday March 23rd, 2016. Her loving Riven died the next day.
  Kimberly, Penny, Paul and Cody tearfully miss you. We pray for your pain free existence somewhere out there. We LOVE you Kimberly and look forward to reuniting with you when our times come.

my heart breaks when i think of you gone....we had so many laughs for so many years working side by side...we were so alike in so many ways and yet different ...we respected each others beliefs . Kim and i used to bring each other healthy food to share...yeah we cheated a few times...her smile and voice will stay with me forever.we never car pooled cause well you know Kim was always running a little late...she loved Halloween and used to dress up and come to the track and nobody knew who it was ( cept me ) and she NEVER told anyone but really took great joy in watching everyone trying to guess.
we shared our deepest thoughts and secrets cause i knew and so did she it was between us and never any judgement.
she was a true friend even when we lost touch when we reconnected its like time stood still a phone call was never hello goodbye it was minium 2 hours..and lots of colourful language..lol

Beautiful sister-in-law Kim, I still cant believe you are gone. I am so sad that I wasn't able to do more for you on your last days here on earth, but I know you are at peace and happy to be back with Dad, Baba and Riv in the heavens above. I will always cherish the memories I have of you over the last 35 years.
