Free money!

July 15, 2019

Kirsten was probably 4 or 5 and we were going into the Exchange for some shopping. She had asked for something and I told her that I couldn't afford it right now. She told me she knew where I could get some money and grabbed my hand. She pulled me all the way over to where the teller machine was and said "See mommy! You can get all the money you want here!" From the mouth of a babe! ❤

I had gone into labor with Kelsey, and Matt had gone out to grab some breakfast. Contractions hit me hard all of a sudden so I got on my hands and knees and started my breathing. Little Kirsten was not quite 2 years old but put her hand on my back and asked if I was ok. I told her I was about to have her baby sister and trying to get my breathing to help the pain. She said ok, and then got down on her hands and knees right next to me and started breathing like I was. She told me that she would help me!! Miss this sweet girl so much! ❤

Ice Cream

July 12, 2019

Kirsten was about 6,  Kelsey about 4. I (Grandma) was taking them for ice cream and I asked Kelsey, "What kind of ice cream do you want?" She replied, "Damilla!" Kirsten said,  "Dummy! It's not damilla - it's VA-milla!"

Kirsten will always be  the friend you only have once in a lifetime. The friend who came up to check on me when I didn’t answer. The one who considered my boys as her own. The one who has helped clean my home when I wasn’t feeling the best. We were the keeper of each other secrets. She was an amazing bartender and the first to send me back to work with a raspberry “flavored” drink! We loved taking the kids to the park, splash pad in Milton, Gino’s pub and endless billy bob dates. She’s my best friend and had the most beautiful soul. I hope I’m as good of a friend to others as she was to anyone that needed her. She’s forever missed.
