We invite you to post stories, tributes, photos, and videos of Kyle. We would love to create a tribute to Kyle's life. Let us celebrate the fond memories and happy moments we shared with Kyle. This memorial will commemorate the bond we shared with the best friend, brother, and son we all loved and cared for.
It will help all of us to read your stories, see your photos, watch any videos as we try and fill the emptiness we all are experiencing with his passing.
Kyle is a gift that keeps on giving; that friend that won’t stop helping. From heartbreak, to moving into a new home or needing help finding your cellphone at the side of a highway at two in the morning. Kyle is everyone’s “person” and is the epitome of kindness and genuity. He chooses to believe in the best of people, regardless of circumstance. He doesn’t have a bad bone in his body as he believes in forgiveness and is never spiteful.
Kyle’s favorite dish to bring to any table is laughter and a homemade apple pie from scratch. Kyle also celebrates Christmas by whipping up a batch of eggnog and sharing it with his mates. It goes without saying, Kyle is a loyal friend, incredible brother, and a loving son. He is a child of nature. Hiking trails are at the peak of his interests. Camping sites are his second home where he developed his favorite memories with his family. He enjoys a simple life. He’ll opt for some pizza and wings with cold Alaskan Brewed Beer over steak and lobster paired with wine.

Kyle will always be remembered with every trail hiked, every BBQ on the beach, every marshmallow roasted over a campfire and every toast of Laphroaig Whiskey on the rocks.

Man, you keep crossing my mind, especially during this time of year. You were always a good, kind soul to me and it hurts knowing you’re gone. I still have that CD that you left in the Jeep I first owned in Alaska and every time I hear B.B King you cross my mind. I hope you found peace. Just know how truly missed you are. Rest easy.

I'm keeping your family in my prayers. Kyle was always so nice and genuine and like a family member on the cross country team in high school. As another member of the Army I can attest to the many challenges he must have faced making it all the way to SSG. He is an amazing person.

Extremely sorry to hear about your loss. Kyle was like a brother to me back in high school cross country. He was a driven and hard working rival. However, he was also one of the kindest person I have had the opportunity to run with. You'll be missed dearly. I can only look back to the memories we had and smile at them cause they really brought me joy. You'll be missed very much.

Kyle was one of the kindest, greatest souls I’ve ever known. He had your back no matter what, always forgave and cared for others at a deep level. He loved to laugh. He was easy going, and one of the hardest workers. He had a heart and attitude about him that will forever be missed. I hope you found some peace. Rest easy, Kyle.

There are no words to express how much Kyle will be missed. Though we live far apart our love for Kyle and you all has always been everlasting and far reaching. Our hearts break with you, Kyle will be forever in our hearts and memories. I remember staying in Cairns Australia with you all and being stuck at the airport and how wonderful you all were and how nothing seemed to bother any of you. You were the sweetest kids with the biggest smiles, I will always have those special memories of our time together. Love to you all from all of us in Australia. Forever and always...

To Bill, Megan Katlyn and Alyssa

Deepest Sympathies to each one of you during this time of unimaginable loss. We remember Kyle as the sweet boy who visited the family reunions , loved Camping with all his uncles and family before coming to the Berichon. Watching his Dad and Uncle Alec playing the pipes at the Pipers Picnic.
It all seems so long ago.
Kyle sounds like he made a lasting impression on his fellow soldiers, a determined Athlete, great friend , awesome brother and a wonderful son.
Beautiful memories and God's love will see you through the darkest hours.Remember you are not alone, Others are sending Prayers and Hugs from afar.

Blessings of Love

Kyle,

Our three years stationed together will forever be memorable. Our relationship began as the normal leader to subordinate, but blossomed into a friendship that will always be remembered. You are a strong caring person who has an iron will, while remaining humble and always keeping a smile on your face. This is not goodbye, but a see ya later.

We are saddened to hear about the heartbreaking loss of Kyle. Although Dave and I only had the pleasure of spending a few occasions with Kyle and his sisters when they would visit in the summer, he made a strong impression on us. He was gentle and kind to our boys and very loving to his family. Our hearts and prayers are extended to his mother, father, sisters and extended family. Kyle's successes and accomplishments will be remembered and the light from his bright soul will never fade. Heartfelt condolences to all the family.      All our love, Charlotte and David Abbott

So sorry for the loss of such a beautiful soul. Sending all my love across the ocean to Guam.
Many incredible memories of our summers together in Dartmouth. Throwing a ball up into the branches of that one tree in the middle of papas yard, sliding down the rock that felt massive, going down into the basement to play the one song we all knew how to play on the piano (Peter Peter pumpkin eater) and so many more. You were always so kind and caring no matter what we did, you didn't mind being dragged into what ever game we wanted to play. Memories I will cherish forever.
Rest easy Kyle, we miss you and we love you.
Love Always, Terri

I was very sorry to hear about Kyle. I have many great memories of Kyle during summer vacations in Nova Scotia. Our families spent a lot of time camping together over the years. Kyle was very friendly and got along with everyone. I had a chance to spend a lot of time with Kyle while he attended university in Halifax, playing pool and catching hockey games. I enjoyed his stay with me two summers ago when he was home to visit. Gone but not forgotten. My condolences go out to Bill, Megan, Katlyn and Alyssa.

Papas Piano

October 28, 2021
Last week I was visiting my friend at an AirBnb they had rented. In the living room they had a piano. It reminded me so much of the one Papa use to have down in his basement. It brought back memories of going down into the cold, unfinished basement with Kyle and Katlyn to bang away on the out of tune piano he had in one of the corners. Katlyn taught Kyle and I how to play Peter Peter Pumpkin eater. To this day its still the only song I can play on the piano. I miss you Kyle and wish we had more time to make memories together. Until we met again.
Love you

I first met Kyle at Fort Greely, I was walking around the hangar over there and Kyle approached me out of nowhere.

He said, "Hey, I heard you're from Guam".
I responded, "Watchu know about Guam?!?"
Kyle, "Oh, I'm from there".
Since ever since, I see him and I say "Hafa Adai Che'Lu!! Umbi fan, howzit?"

For everyone who knows Kyle, he's the most laid back, easy going guy, always had that big smile, and he would stop whatever he was doing and go out of his way to help you.

Much love to you che'lu, rest easy.
My condolences to the Sutherland Family.
