Her Life

The early days...

February 10, 2021
Evelyn LaDell Kinder was born to Leo and Ruby Kinder in Clovis, NM on Dec 8, 1929. The forth of six children, she enjoyed the companionship of her large family. Her father was employed in literature evangelism and later owned a cookie shop in Vinita OK.
Every summer the family attended the SDA campmeeting in Midwest City.  One summer the teenage LaDell and her sister Leora noticed three young men headed their way. Soon the five of then were sitting together at every meeting: Charles Day and Leora, Russell Fisher and LaDell, with the tall, gangly George Fisher in the middle. These friendships continued at Southwestern Junior College that fall, and continued to a double wedding in June, 1948.
Russell and Ladell settled to life on the Fisher family farm. Five children were soon born to them, and Ladell was busy with children, gardening, church and home.

Her legacy...

LaDell carried within her a deep and abiding faith in God. She nurtured this by rising early to commune with God, and by seeking Him in prayer in all the trials of life. This gave her life a power for good and an influence that touched us all.
She was very instrumental in beginning a church school in Bristow. She taught Sabbath school classes, worked with Pathfinders, gave Bible studies,     and promoted evangelism in all its forms.
When the time and opportunity came she and Russell worked and sacrificed to plant a church in Okmulgee. These efforts never stopped.
