A Haiku for my mom:

Buffalo woman
Remember to dance, you said.
I try for you, mom.

Eleven years without you feels like a very long time to live without your laugh. This year, I will try to notice the laughter in my life more, and dance more too.

With Memorial Day and Henry's 4th birthday here, I am missing you like crazy. You were such an amazing Oma for the year and a half you spent with Henry. I am so grateful Henry got to know you a little because he still talks about you, but it is impossible not to imagine all the fun you would have had with all of us (Henry, Opa, Jeneia, me, Harmon and all of the family) this weekend. You are so missed.

Oh my gosh!!! I was searching online for old friends; including LaDonna. I moved from PA a few years ago, and figured I had time to catch up her. I loved her... I partied with her after our marriages fell apart, but now she's gone. I cannot believe it. I am so sorry I did not stay in touch. She was beautiful, inside and out, and she was amazing. She was so vibrant and genuine.

I just learned of LaDonna's passing. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding! By the time I met LaDonna in college, her compassionate spirit was fully formed. She was an embodiment of grace.
My condolences to her family - you are suffering a tremendous loss. So aptly named, LaDonna - The Lady.

Terry & family, I was shocked and saddened to hear of LaDonna's death. I was a fellow-cheerleader and college roommate at Augustana and how I wish that we had kept in touch over the years. I enjoyed the pictures so much.....same smile, same loveliness, and same spirit that I knew many years ago. Truly sorry for your loss. Leah Pierson Peden

We are so sad losing a beautiful person here on earth. In our perspective, we feel she was taken way too early, but God's perspective is very different than ours, we remind ourselves. Our love, prayers, and hugs to Signe, Mistia, Jeneia, Janet, Rhonda, Mark, Terry, and families, as well as ours/her extended family members We remember how gracious La Donna was when we visited them in PA

I will always remember the times we spent together with Mistia and Nikki doing shows on the fireplace, the times we laughed together and cried together, the happy and sad times that we shared that others do not know about, cherished memories of all those precious moments, dancing, sipping wine and laughing so much. I will keep you in my heart all my life and we will be together again.

My sympathy to LaDonna's family and friends at the loss of her physical presence. Her spirit survives in your heads and hearts, your genes and memories, and lessons learned being around her. I clearly remember her beautiful smile Sundays at the American Lutheran Church, as a Queen of Job's Daughters, and as a Gothenburg High School cheerleader.

From earliest memories, she's been there at all the family (Block) Holiday gatherings, my shining ,pretty, cheerful cousin. In High School years, what an inspiring example she was to so many of us younger gals!! A pretty cheerleader who was both popular AND friendly !! I love to look for similarities in features of her children and mine and features we may have inherited from our Grandma .

This photo is from one of the most beautiful days I can remember - when Mistia married my brother Harmon.  LaDonna walked her down the aisle of rose petals on the shore of Lake Tahoe, and they both just glowed in their happiness and love.
