CLEMMONS WINSTON-SALEM - Petty Officer 3rd Class LaMario Raishauwn Clemmons 23, departed this life on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at his home in Virginia Beach, VA. He was born March 28, 1986 in Winston-Salem, NC. He was a graduate of West Forsyth High School, Class of 2004, and attended Appalachian State University. He was a Pop Warner Football Player with the W-S Tiny Indians; baseball with the Twin City Little League; and basketball at the Winston Lake YMCA. He enjoyed singing as "Soy-O-Boy" the recording artist, and being with his brother playing basketball, accompanied by his childhood friends in the old neighborhood. He joined the United States Navy in 2005. In boot camp, he held the honor of being designated as AROC. Mario served on tours of duty in places like Panama, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, and during his time in Africa, he received a letter of Commendation for Outstanding Seamanship and Performance. He was currently assigned to the Assault Craft Unit 2 MPS Department. Mario was a good, fun loving, and caring young man. He had a strong care and sense of family. He was preceded in passing by grandfathers, Bishop Samuel Lee Clemmons and Ledell Williams. He leaves to cherish: his loving and caring parents, Matthew and Cynthia Clemmons Williams of Clemmons, NC; his birth father, Alfonzo Boyd, Sr.; a devoted brother, Matthew Williams, Jr. and his brother, Alfonzo Boyd, Jr.; three sisters, Destiny M. Boyd, Greensboro, Mikenzi Grooms and Krista Boyd, both of Clemmons; his devoted and loving soulmate, Seaman E-3 Teri A. Richards of the home; a devoted grandmother, Peggy A. Grooms; additional grandparents, Ruby Williams, Janie Autrey, Stephen Grooms, Lester Boyd; aunts, Sandra (Clay) Bryan, Pamela (Elder Johnnie) Draft, Angela (Jesse) Wiley, Monnica (Averil) Moore, Deborah D.
