Larry Ray Dease, 53, a resident of 5523 Dorsey Road, died at his home Sunday, June 19, 2011, surrounded by his family. He lost a courageous 3 year battle with melanoma in his bones.
Born in Granville County, he was the son of Pete and Rebecca Dease of Oxford. Larry worked for Certainteed Corporation for 33 years and up until January of this year before his health gave out.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Tony Evans. Burial will be in Poplar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Henderson (Vance County).
Survivors other than his parents are his wife, Jane Dease of the home, two daughters, Bridgett Dease Paschall and husband Glenn of Oxford, Brooke Nicole Dease of Raleigh, a brother, Terry Wayne Dease and wife Allison of Oxford and two grandsons, Cody and Caden Paschall.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Tuesday evening, June 21, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Pete Dease, Terry Dease, Glenn Paschall, Lewis Hunt, Kenneth Clayborne, Grady Inscoe, Tim Denny and Ronald (Tubby) Watson.
