His Life

Larry was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 30, 1953 to his loving parents, the late Mr. Realus E. Nesbitt, Sr. and the late Mrs. Gladys O. J. Nesbitt.  He was received in the presence of the Lord in the afternoon on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Larry attended the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.

In 1971, Larry joined the United States Marine Corps stationed at Parris Island, S. C. , Platoon 216.  A short time later still determined to serve his Country, Larry joined the United States Army.  Larry entered basic training at Fort Jackson, S. C.  Some of his other duty stations were Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, Kentucky and one tour of duty in Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division.  Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army as a Specialist, Larry career took him to work for the Federal Government.

Many years ago Larry moved to Moreland, Georgia and was employed at William Bonnell.  In 2001, Larry met his loving wife, Eula and they were wed in 2008.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Roberts T. Miller, James A. Miller and Realus E. Nesbitt, Jr.

Larry will be lovingly missed by his wife, Eula Mae Nesbitt of Moreland, GA; one son, Sorrell D. Mobley of Savannah, GA; and one daughter, Aletheia Nesbitt of Savannah, GA; one stepson, Cedrick (Sandra) Johnson and one step daughter, Telecia (Rashaad) Johnson, both from Moreland, GA; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; a devoted step granddaughter, Nequil Johnson; six sisters, Carletha (Rush) Yancey, Maxine Alford of Newark, N. J., Reverend Geraldine (Nathaniel) Drayton of Savannah, GA, Vivian (Dennis) Flowers of Fayetteville, N. C., Donna Faye and Veronica L. Nesbitt of Savannah, GA; three brothers, James D. (Lorraine) Nesbitt, Sr. of Midway, GA, Quinton F. Nesbitt of Savannah, GA and Emory C. Nesbitt of Savannah, GA; three aunts, Hazel Bacon of Philadelphia, PA, Hattie Ray of Bronx, NY, Carrie Attaway of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law, Janie Nesbett;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many special friends.
