Larry Wayne Oakley, 48. a resident of Highway 96 South, died Saturday, June 4th 2011 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late Madge Bowling Oakley. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was medically retired from the Logging business.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 7th in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Neil Woodlief. Burial will be in Community Gardens in Stem, N.C.
Surviving are his daughter, Jessica Oakley of Stem, his father, Wayne “Bill” of Creedmoor, five sisters, Rachel McFalls of Franklinton, Mary Brown of Creedmoor, Judy Clayton of Kittrell, Melinda Parker of Creedmoor and Wendy Oakley of Durham, two brothers, Dan Oakley of Oxford and Dale Oakley of Creedmoor. He was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm “Moochie” Oakley.
Visitation 7:00-8:30 PM Monday evening, June 6th at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at 2057 Hayes Road, Creedmoor, NC 27522.
