Good-bye My Darling for Now

I awake each morning to start a new day
But the pain of losing you never goes away.
I go about the things I have to do
And as the hours pass I think again of you.
I want to call you and just hear your voice
Then I remember that I have no choice
For you are not there and now my heart cries
Just to see you again to tell you goodbye
To say Lar I love you and I always will
And hope that much of you, in me you've instilled.
The day that you left I just didn't know
That you were going where I couldn't go.
And now all my memories of you are so dear
But Lord, how I miss you and wish you were here.
Who now can hear me when I need to cry?
It is so hard to tell you “goodbye."
Someday I know all will be well
And I'll see you again with stories to tell
Of how you were missed and love by all.
Until then my memories of you I'll keep near
And I'll pass them on to those who are dear.

Loving You Always, Joani

I was blessed to share my life with Larry Tadrick for 39 years. He was diagnosed with lung cancer December 9th, 2010 and went to be with God May 9th, 2013. He was the kind of man who lived for his wife, family and friends (and of course the Lions and Tigers).  He is loved and missed dearly by everyone who knew him. There are those who look at things the way they are and ask why?  Lar dreamed of things that never were and asked what next in times of disappointment.  All of us should follow in his footsteps for his courage when battling his illness, pain, fear and life’s huge obstacles.  His passion was unlimited for his family, friends, Tigers, Lions and gambling.  Christmas Eve was his favorite holiday party.  Proven by leaving the hospital during treatments to be with his family.  He just told them to figure it out because he was going and he did. I will always love him and miss him desperately.  Watching the Tigers without him is just not as fun.  Rest now my darling and wait for me.  He was laid to rest on August 8th, 2013.

Larry

June 16, 1938 – May 9, 2013

George Larry Tadrick was born in Flint, Michigan on June 16th, 1938, to his Mother Clarice Louise DeCamp and Father Lawrence Julius Tadrick. Growing up Larry spent several years living on a farm in Indiana where he was involved in 4H and bought his beloved horse Scout. He attended grade school at Adelphi Academy until he turned 14, where he then moved to New York to live with his mother, step-father and four brothers Bob, Patrick, Michael and Kevin.  While growing up in New York he delivered telegrams on a bicycle in Manhattan while attending Bryant High School until 1956 when he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

While serving in the Air Force he traveled to numerous countries including Ireland and England. Later while serving in Little Rock, Arkansas he met his wife Mary and they had three boys together Ricky, Brion and Derek. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Larry and his family relocated to Flint, Michigan where he worked for General Motors and was later promoted to management.  While living in Michigan Larry became involved in the Shriners and participated in many charitable events.

In 1971 Larry and his family relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona where he started and managed a successful insurance business. Then in 1974 he would meet his future wife and partner of 39 years Joani. During this time Larry and Joani would blend their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren into one big family that spent many holidays and vacations together over the years.

Larry was an avid fan of all sports teams from Michigan, especially the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Redwings. He could tell you the stats and averages of any player on those teams at any given time.  Before passing Larry was able to fulfill one of his dreams and that was to see the Detroit Tigers play in the World Series. Without realizing it Larry’s larger than life personality would have a tremendous effect on those closest to him as well as those he didn’t even know.

George Larry Tadrick is survived by his wife Joani, five children Ricky, Brion, Derek, Tereasa, and Wendy, 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His four brothers Bob, Patrick, Michael, Kevin, two sister-in-laws, 29 nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Sadee.
